Now in my community, slapping, attracts a fine of 50k.

Fighting attracts a fine of 100k, 24 stroke of the cane and 1 carton of beer.

Threats of any sort attracts 100k and 1carton of beer.

Back to my story, the husband was arrested and whipped 24 stroke, and was made to pay a fine of 50k and 1 carton of beer.
And afterwards was sternly warned by the youths never to lay a finger on his woman again.

He was given a bottle of beer and told to take his wife home.

Men in the house, how would you live with your wife after such humiliation?

What amused me was the type of men and youths that came out to embarrass and advised the man on how to govern his home.

So many things happening in this our cross river. Thoe other time on TV, I saw a community whereby the women are entitled to marry many guys. They are culturally endeared to marry many men, feed them, cater for them, give them money once in awhile while they do other things for you like cooking, washing, going with you to the farm to do farm work, sleeping with you and impregnating you. Shockingly, the men knows when a fellow co husband impregnated their wife. They all have their schedule of sleeping with their wife.....things are happening in this Naija.... Na wao

These are not landlords and tenants. They are kinsmen and siblings. It's a bloodline and the lines are drawn you shouldn't cross. Don't try to break the law. It's a customary law and it ends in customary courts. They win, you lose.

In my community, our kinsmen go to the police and obtain permission and treat any community issue as it regards their law. Most of you are just ignorant of how most cases are settled.

Have you been to a customary court or followed the cases adjudicated there? Do you know how they appoint the heads?
