mrvitalis:

Low income earners would introduce corruption

There would get a chance you can rig the list of low income earners buy it n resale

But if u sale at fair market price.. U can't resale so no point to rig the list

Very intelligent perspective.

if it 20m and below... I can consider buying one nd even encourage others including my wife to go for it too... bt anything above 20m, it a no no for house mata

D one we are staying in Maitama, my uncle gets 12million Naira from it every year and we are the only tenant. It even cheaper compared to other houses in the area. But it worth it. Including free security guard. Although we have our own soldier around.

Yes, but the original article in the link also says there will be payment options like:

- Mortgage loan
- Instalmental payment
- Rent to own
etc.

Why not try your luck? You might be pleasantly surprised.

There's no way low income earners can buy those properties.
In think the best approach is to assess the true values of the houses according to current reality and subject it to lottery for civil servants.

The conditions of sale will be spelt out clearly, subject to affordability by the individuals acquiring them.
