In the book of 1 Corinthians, Apostle Paul was referring to a scenario. He was only trying to paint a scenario to tell how weighty love can be. He didn't say he did it and there was never any record of his activities or any of the apostles or disciples that spoke a language that no human understands.

The major reason why the anointing made the disciples spoke in tongues was for the purpose of spreading the good news so that language won't be a barrier. With this they can speak and preach to others around who didn't understand jew.

Interesting claim, yet the book of Acts records that on the day of Pentecost, the words that were spoken by the Apostles were heard and understood by the people— gentile Israelites — who were in Jerusalem at the time.

Not necessarily the case at all, since when I hear people — I live in a big city with lots of foreigners around— around me speaking, I don't think instinctively think they are speaking gibberish unless what they are saying sounds like gibberish. Instead, I hope they are not cursing at me at least. Speaking gibberish is clearly different from speaking a language.
