DeLaRue: I get your point but compared to everywhere else, it remains superior for major issues like decent security and being relatively flooding-free to others conveniences like proximity to MMIA for frequent travellers like businessmen etal. If you create a desirability tick list, for areas to live in Lagos, Ikeja GRA will still tickets the most boxes despite its problem no Lagos area is free of. |

AngelahFlo: Areas like Osapa London experience flooding on a terrible level that literally grinds activities, commercial and private, to a halt for days. 1 Like 1 Share |

Sharpsharp00123: Don't mind those hateful irritants. Progressive people, because they genuinely seek solutions, discuss good and bad. They don't see good alone related to some place (the SE) and bad related to others (the SW) as the hateful lot do. Of course Tinubu did fantastically well, along with Fashola and co. Yet, as an example, will he police every Lagosian and prevent them dropping plastic and pure water nylon in gutters that causes serious flooding? The abominable and hateful lot are really annoying and best ignored most times. |

Mindlog: Of course. Like the collapsed tower in Ikoyi that had original planning permission for15 floors or so yet the developer bribed his way to securing approval for 21 floors. Is anyone therefore surprised at the collapse of the tower leading to the death of many and, as fate would have it, the developer himself? 3 Likes |

Moletemike: Indeed. Bianca, like any exposed woman from the SE, has grown beyond the men from her region. She has seen life and experienced the world to know that other men are not the mate of the men from her own ethnic group she labelled cowards and "men who are not like men". One big reality any proper man must acknowledge is the fact that women need men the can always respect and look up to. The second a woman sees a man as unworthy of her respect , and unsound in comparison to his fellow men, is the point at which her heart and soul leaves that men never to return. From that point, she can only feel disdain and pity for such a man. That is what men from her ethnic group are making Bianca and her fellow women feel. Imagine a a group of men so hateful and petty to the extent of spamming Nairaland with many threads asking Bianca not to accept appointment from "Yoruba Givernment" same as Obi urged Anambra folks not to vote "Yoruba Party" ( Ngige) to the Senate slot of the State? Imagine if Bianca was reading all those thread and noting how men from her ethnic group are urging her to reject serving her Country because of nothing other than bigoted hatred of the ethnic origin of the President? Exposed and sophisticated women, who have seen and know better, will never be able to feel respect for such petty, insecure and hateful men. |

@OP. First time you have delivered a factually relevant post. The garish bolded red font has to go though. Those who live in Lekki and truly love Lagos, as I do, know you are correct. I dabble in property development and I can only say the property development supervisory regulation for the Lekki area is highly irresponsible, dangerous and compromised by inhuman greed. There is no respect at all for the ecological and geographical challenges of Lekki that strict planning permission must always move uncompromisingly to effectively supervise so as to plan for the long-term safety of the land and people of the area. Many man-made problems currently trouble Lekki from issues related to negligent human practices leading to avoidable flooding, irresponsible conduct raising the risk of coastal erosion, poor disposal of waste and even disease proliferation from human consumption, accidental or otherwise, of contaminated water. Plus much more. The area is a huge and unsupervised mess with greed been the grand commander of the Orchestra. The best place to live in Lagos, for many reasons, is Ikeja GRA if one can afford it. 4 Likes |

MightySparrow: When a Nigerian views himself and his ethnic group as "Chosen people from Israel" that should indicate to you that said Nigerians is 'cuckoo' and not to be taken seriously. Take serious, at your own risk, those who insist they are Jews when the people who are proven to be Jewish, by DNA, insist our delusional Nigerian brethren are not genetically Jewish. What else defines madness and inferiority complex other than such ridiculous famzing of those with white skin by black wannabes ashamed of their African origin? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.timesofisrael.com/messianic-jews-to-nigerians-youre-not-real-jews/amp/

Mabuggi88: What kind of opponent if not a very undesirable one? Bro forget Tinubu's matter for a second. Atiku na bad market. Are some of you not bothered he tried to ruin the already very fragile unity of Nigeria with his 2023 attempt to be President which, if he had won, would mean Fulanis ruling Nigeria for like 16 unbroken years? Atiku is a very dangerous man. The sort, like Hitler etal, that destroy nations and many lives because of their selfishness and messiah complex. Should hatred of Tinubu blind you to what Atiku is? 6 Likes |

helinues: Year I get your argument. Solid one at that too because of the saying "all politics is local" meaning that constituents are concerned about their own immediate issues and local problem. They would therefore likely vote a known politician suggesting solutions rather than someone deemed an "outsiders" proposing same. Nonetheless, those of us with Ogun State origin, with progressive mindset cannot stop thinking what could be if someone like Fashola, not know to Ogun local politics, could be brought in purely for his istrative talent to then set Ogun on the path of development as happened to Lagos from Tinubu onwards. Something must break the cycle of Ogun's caucus and ka ri mi (notice me) politics that means those who are incompetent have mastered the art of being visible to the electorate and thus continue winning at the expenses of those not visible, or even politically relevant, who may have the magic wand to transform Ogun State and elevate her to the status her endowment demands. By the way, Osinbajo was a miscalcution by PBAT. He is not the norm and even Ambode proves this with how he has shown exemplary loyalty to Tinubu and APC post his outing as Lagos Governor. |

helinues: Baba, na about who go deliver progress and not loyalty or for those strong in local politics. Being strong at grassroot politics does not mean you will be good at leading a State. Tinubu has proven this, by always ignoring the likes of Obanikoro, Obasa etal, to those who are not politicians at all (like Fashola, Ambode, Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu etal) to carry his vision forward. Obasa, for example, is a Titan of Agege and Lagos politics from even his late teens who has always nursed governorship ambitions. Yet he will be a disaster as Governor in my opinion and I doubt Tinubu will ever him.to become that. Ogun State has sufferd enough since 1999 when all these local champions have held sway but done nothing to elevate the socio-economic status of a State that should actually be competing with Lagos if in the hands of competent s. |

helinues: Yes I know. I was just pointing out that the poster meant the candidate Osoba will back formally and not his kingmaking prowess. |

Starhearts: You may be right about the bolded looking at things from a purely political angle. If we are talking about progress for Ogun State then Edun is way better than those with "local structure". It is the way politics is played in Ogun that is responsible for the condemnable backwardness of the State. A State with far greater potentials than Lagos has virtually not moved even one step forward since 1999 despite her iral human and material resources because the State, beginning with OGD, has been going from one poor/average Governor to another. Ogun State would have benefitted from having a benevolent political godfather who will neutralise those with "local structure" in favour of those who may not be politicians or politically inclined but would make visionary and transformational s. As Tinubu achieved with Fashola, Ambode and now Sanwo-Olu. Edun may be a "lightweight politician" as were Fashola, Ambode and Sanwo-Olu, who were not even politicians per se, but he will be better than most of the clowns with "local Structure" deemed "heavyweight politicians". If Ogun continues with playing politics as she always has, the State will stagnate for decades. 1 Like |

happney65: Yorubas don't brag they have bought the entire London and are "enslaving" the "lazy and unambitious Brits' in their own nation merely because they are enjoying success courtesy of a meritocratic society that regards hardwork and talent. Yorubas don't dedicate their entire lives and focus to fighting those they met on ground in the UK. They with them to contribute their bit to societal progress. They are not nauseating supremacist always bragging they are better than all and forever insulting and putting others down. That's the big difference between them and the 'developer' people. 48 Likes 9 Shares |

maybet081: Buddy, ask anyone who knows the diaspora as a matter of experience and not dem say dem say alone, those "far far better financially" in the diaspora are Nigerians with professional skill in medicine, IT, ing etc. It is their far above average earnings, which most of the population of the UK cannot earn, that insulates them from the "living to pay bills" reality of many western nation. If you want to 'japa' to go and do menial work in the West then better to remain in Nigeria. Everyone in the diaspora will confirm what I am saying. Most Nigerians are prone to being refugees because of the nation we come from but those who have choice , and know what living and being alive truly is, are even moving away from the West most Nigerians wish to "japa' to. When you spend virtually all your earnings on rent and bills, and have no saving, in nations with depressing weather, crippling loneliness, non-existent social life etc, then that is not living. It is grinding. Listen to those speaking from experience and stop arguing blindly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2uOU1nhgPY?si=hh5wuX7kvkaOqTZD |
