11 persons have been nabbed by The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for suspected child trafficking, abduction and sale of children.

The agency in a combined operation with the of the operatives of the Directorate of the State Services (DSS) arrested them in different parts of Anambra state.

8 women and 3 men were, made up the persons arrested and they reportedly belong to a criminal syndicate that specialized in kidnapping and sale of babies across the country.

3 kids aged between 8 months to 4 years were recovered during the operation. A 2 – year old girl, reportedly stolen from Lagos sometimes ago and another 4 – year old boy who was allegedly stolen from his parents in Gudaba, Abuja were amongst the kids rescued.

The 2-year old was stolen from Okpoko in Anambra State and was recovered in Lagos.

Rosemary Okafor, 30, one of the suspects, confessed to selling one of her 4 children (Newborn baby) to one woman simply identified as Madam Pink at the cost of N350, 000. She said she sold the baby to be able to train the other three in school.

This is a serious crime that is being taken with levity

That's why stories like these still make headlines

I still don't get when humans became a commodity

Mothers these days don't have any conscience.
This is because today's moms were brought up with Lactogen and NAN. They didn't get to take real breàst milk.
So it makes them reason like animals.

But I think the reason people steal and sell babies is because of the reduction in tribal marks.

This kinda news fills me with rage If a couple lacks financial means to adequately care for themselves talk-less of children, they shouldn’t bare children, yes none at all.

These kind of parents are grossly irresponsible, they don’t sit down to assess their finances. Struggle to barely feed themselves and their children, struggle to send them to school just to have their children lacking in one essential aspect of life or the other (clothing, upkeep etc); that is if education is on their agenda for the children.

These children didn’t ask to be born, why bring them to this world to suffer, this is wickedness. We should have stringent laws to deter such

African parents reason with their anus. You know your financial capability yet they keep sharking without contraception and churning babies into this world to come and suffer. For God's sake 2-3 kids are enough. Give them good training, education and future. If you aren't ready to train a kid then don't procreate

No gainsaying, We need to checkmate the needless numerous birth of offsprings we can't adequately cater for, thereby, ballooning and bloating the population and overstretching resources. Women should form the primary targets of family planning and avail themselves of ovary barrier after 3-4 births. In saner climes, sex is for companionship and bonding, here, its for careless multiple procreation.
