A CROOK WILL ALWAYS JUSTIFY EVIL. IF ALL OUR REFNERIES ARE UP AND RUNNING , WHY SHOULD FUEL BE ABOVE 500 IN A COUNTRY WHERE PEOPLE ENJOY ALMOST NOTHING.

Those countries don't have crude oil, and don't give incentives to Oil producers like Nigeria gave you Dangote. Don't be greedy, since this oil facility came into stream, you bounced back to richest man position.

Petro is not expensive in Nigeria but it could be cheaper based on the fact that we have crude oil and refine locally now.

Capitalist must make massive profits. They always price things on high they feel people can pay. It's one thing killing us in Nigeria. Western countries were already developing nicely before capitalism took over. We started our country straight into the jaws of capitalism and we know how some of our folks love money.

Oga mechonu, no where petrol is selling below $1. we agree

But how country is the currency as useless as #1600 to a $

Every currency get im own rate to dollar ... it is total mischief to quote #1600

how much is 1600 to cotonou cefa or ghana cedis now ... they just talk anyhow cos they know Nigerians are gullible

Compare salary (minimum wage) to the cost of Petro.

A higher price is affordable abroad because the use of gasoline is not as extensive as in Nigeria.

In Nigeria there are few alternatives. Here public transport is rudimnetary and inefficient, power is irregular and telecommunications and interconnectivity is a lot better over there.

Then there is the face to face culture which is a lot less abroad due to a higher level of trust in society meaning people move around a lot less.

Whenever I spend time with folks abroad issues surrounding fuel is not near the top of activities. Visits to gas stations do not constitute the centre of their lives the way it does in Nigeria.

Yes it's not expensive, but the wages you are paying your workers and labourers is too meager to afford 5litres of fuel a day. Fuel is now for the elite.

Lol

Dangote is right to say Petrol is cheap in Nigeria because it is the fact, but it is coming from a selfish heart. Also, Nigerians are poor, and most poor people are selfish too. So, the equation is balanced. grin

Mainwhile, we keep shouting security is bad, but we want to keep buying petrol at a cheap rate. What we should be asking for is purchase at an affordable price (it can be at the world market price and still be affordable because low price is not the only factor to affordability). The price we are paying for cheap petrol is insecurity which isbtio expensive because it is one of the attractions for our neighbouring nations to keep entering Nigeria. And also, as long as it is cheap here, we are encouraging smuggling which is a big problems for our borders.....still a terrible security issue. What if we make it at the world market price so that smuggling stops which makes us more secure, then, divert the amount saved for security into the betterment of Nigerians. Guess what? That money will be looted, and will be a continuous looting machine because they will still make security budget the same or even more when it is lower. grin So, we are our own wahala.

The root problem is what we need to solve and stop asking for subsidy in everything. Honestly, look at how Nigerians cry and smile these days. Why? Hunger is a tool to train people. I guess during the days food is cheap, before you say anything, strike and aluta don happen. But now, person wey never chop no get strength to fight...that's what people say now.

Good luck to Nigerians.

Wicked souls. Most of them do not have crude oil in abundance like we do here and the poverty rate in Nigeria is pretty much extreme compared to these African countries he is comparing us to. I when the cefa used to be tissue paper compared to the naira but the crooks in power have terribly reversed this that the CFA is now miles ahead of our worthless currency.

Compared to the purchasing power of the minimum wage, petrol is expensive in Nigeria.

Dangote, that’s the bitter truth.

So the reason why they are frustrating the repair of the other refineries is just because they want to increase the price?

Lack of ability. I hope you don't carry this to your day to day life.

A whole government of Nigeria that has the power to crush Dangote and his refineries is the one Dangote is frustrating?

Do you even know what you're saying?

That was how some of you said it the ruling party putting others parties in disarray. These just show lack of ability.
