Yunusa Tanko, the Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, on Wednesday accused President Bola Tinubu-led istration of paying fuel subsidy through the “backdoor”.

Tanko lamented that Tinubu’s government has refused to tell Nigerians the truth regarding the payment of fuel subsidy.

During his presidential inauguration in Abuja in 2023, Tinubu had announced an end to the fuel subsidy regime.

Appearing on Channels Television’s Morning Brief on Wednesday, Tanko insisted that the current government has not done well since assuming office in 2023.

According to Tanko: “We are not talking about an inflation rate of 34 percent in of income and expenditures of Nigerians.

“You don’t need anybody to tell you if this government has done good or not, all you need to do is visit your kitchen including those in government.

“They should look at what they are able to get at the moment and compare with what they would have had before, then you will see the vast difference.

“Or they should ask their wives what they were given to use in purchasing, then you will see a dwindling economy.

“As of today, the fuel subsidy that was said to have been removed is still being paid through the back door. So where is the justification.

“The major problem this particular government has is the inability to tell the Nigerian people the truth.”

So they are not still satisfied with the 890 per litre? Nothing is being subsidised again that's why people are going through difficult times. They should find another thing to lie about.

I expected Obedient movement to be explaining why Peter Obi's company Next International has not paid its ground rent of over 20 years in the FCT as a good public citizen. But anything to divert attention sha.

Don't ask them for any evidence they can go to court.

Seriously I don't want to hear anything from obident, they are not even Nigerians so we don't know them as Nigerians.

Let them go to court.

APC is a party filled with terrible liars so it is pertinent to question every policy in their istration. The evidence is there. Take a look at the case of the Port Harcourt refinery. Everything about this government is lies, more lies and deceit.

Receipt?
You were told the truth but refused to believe. It was said for years, reason why previous presidents were not bold or brave enough. Removal of fuel and forex subsidies is not a walk in the park. It's very painful though necessary. It will come with inflation.
We cried on this forum that increase in minimum wage will not affect everybody but the inflation that follows it will affect everybody. They thought we were defending Tinubu and 20k salary.
This is aside the common Nigerian greed driven by different factors ranging from corruption to religious prosperity get rich quick, to nollywood and foolish music culture, deliberate scarcity. Omo, Nigeria problem too plenty.

The biggest problem and challenge PBAT will always suffer is the Trust Deficit.

Even amongst his South West tribe they see him as an unrepentant Machiavellian who would go to any extreme to achieve personal and self goals.

Even if subsidy is not paid the fact that people perceive his character as a person who would manage any information as long as it perpertuates him in power.

He cannot explain how the subsidy is paid through the backdoor.

How much was spent and who collected it?

What do you expect from those who claimed to have won election because they won Lagos and Abuja?

For the first time since Pres. Goodluck Jonathan's era, Nigerians are calling on Opposition to remove a sitting President based on just one (1) major factor.

Excruciating poverty !

Nigerians are wiser now and wouldn't wait for 8 years like they did for Buhari.

It's you that doesn't believe the movement, some other people do and mind you it's just a fraction of you that have chosen not to.

He should have attached any evidence he had in his possession to ascertain his alleged or claimed.
With all this propagandas and assumptions they are making the present istration more relevant and important.

I expected a lot of challenges put forward by the oppositions to the present istration on how many job creations can be established via the LGAs and States across the Nation.

For instance: nothing stop the LGA in some states that is relatively peaceful to create job opportunities on - recycling of waste products, production of charcoal from the untapped forests, and many more. These alone will reduce crime and other devices rate in their respective state.

God bless Nigeria.

It’s very unfortunate that Nigerians bear the brunt of this malistration. No transparency at all with the Tinubu government. Everything is being done surreptitiously and no one aside the “cabal” seems to know what is happening.
