Yes, I'll be best fit for the job. Such a person will appreciate a learned and intelligent person to be around his family.

Looking at the country that we are, with millions without job, can you take up the job of a domestic staff for a high profiled politician like a governor, senator etc in the country?

you are a graduate. Might even be a masters holder or Ph.D.

For me, I would gladly take it because I can achieve a lot in less than 5 years than someone who put in 35years in state or local government civil service.

I know a domestic staff to a former governor who has built 3 houses already. Someone in civil service after 20 years hasn't bought a land yet.
Probably found a loop hole and using it to his advantage or he formed a syndicate ring with other domestic staff that they are using to cash out

All the SA and SSA you have been hearing about what do you think they are? Ofcourse glorified domestic staff.

I have worked as a cook for a governor before
Pay was 60k then back in 2018 is something

They give inscentive that are usually more than the salary they pay

sometimes we get times two of our salaries before pay day grin

Their children or visitors gift money, you eat like a King πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and when they travel you'd definitely get package

During festivities you can get bags of rice, sugar, oil, clothes etc

If they travel you'd rest and your salary is reading even though you didn't work, they prioritise workers welfare

But, I'm richer working for myself than before..If you have the opportunity work for yourself legitimately it gives freedom and peace of mind.

Na lie you lie for here.

Former Governor that probably wasn't paying his citizens minimum wage would pay one so well they'd build 3 houses. grin

Maybe na bamboo house.

I you. Except you're the house keeper who procures food items for the house
Then you stand to make good money, not earned as salary but as windfall of corruption. Because the governor or the high ranking politician will be stealing from the poor masses (including you) and you will be stealing from his loot. So the cycle continues.

In that case, you can build a house or two in 5 years because you're stealing on steady.

If na salary alone , you'll be earning 50k highest.

Politicians are very mean.

Not necessarily true, these policiticians do employ smart domestic workers using them as conduits, and the smart ones get their cuts.

I was once in your position before, the owner was a philanthropist but his lieutenants many of whom have never seen the four walls of
a higher institution will keep boxing you to the extent you quit.

Most graduates, especially first class graduates, ends up working for non graduate business men.

This is a pointless question because 99.9% of unemployed Nigerians would happily take such jobs if they could get them

I know that there is dignity in labor but IF what I really wanted out of life was to become a houseboy or housegirl, I really did not need to spend so many years studying. I could simply have stopped schooling after O'levels and started working as a houseboy at 16 years old in which case I would by now have decades of experience as a house boy.

I trained my children not to settle for less than they are worth. How will I be able to look them in the eye IF I am the one they see doing the opposite of what I told them

Death before dishonor. Instead of working as a houseboy servant for a DEMONIC Nigerian politician or for anyone at all after sweating to get a degree, I would rather buy bags of pure water and sell it in traffic or go work as a labourer on a construction site as that is way better than a life of servitude to a treasury looter.

This is true.

Strangely, there was a tweet on X platform I stumbled on yesterday by a former domestic staff of Pastor Oyedepo and he complained that he was poorly paid.

Pastors are the worst. They are more corrupt than politicians.

I'd rather be friends with olosho and yahoo boys than befriend them.

Yes, 50k salary, and after some years gifted a fine complete house by some benevolent politicians, whereas high paid civil servants in their 40s to 50s, don't have a house.
