🇳🇬🇳🇬NEWS UPDATE
Eric Chelle speaks on Benjamin Frederick’s performance in Super Eagles’ win over Jamaica.

On Benjamin Frederick’s performance:
“Benjamin Frederick was good. He was very calm and composed. Technically, he’s close to perfect — especially when it comes to touching the ball and making strong es.

He reads the game well, but of course, there’s room for improvement. We conceded a goal, and maybe he could have done something differently in that situation.

Like I always say about our players — even when they play well — we still need to improve every day.

My assistant even joked that I should take credit for his performance because I selected him. But really, it’s just one game — a big one — and he needs to keep working hard and improving.”
Napoleon55(m): 10:25pm On Jun 03
If clubs like Man U,Chelsea and Arsenal want Osimhen, they should not disrespect him with a ridiculous offer, they should be ready to make an offer of $300k and above per week.

TheGoodJoe:

What ever pay cut Osimhen takes, he will have enough to sustain himself if he chooses to. More money is just for extra luxury, not comfort. Mane was paid low wages all through his Liverpool time but he still was able to do mega charity work for his community, let alone taking care of himself.
People are talking money money as if there are even many Nigeria players earning closer to Osimhen's earning.
My concern is the quality of the club he would end up with if his salary is reduced a little.

Most of our ex-internationalx who retired with far lesser earning than current players are still considered successful .
Osimhen should make a wiser decision.

On the Super Eagles midfield...

As we focus on the likes of Iwobi, Onyedika, Uche, Ndidi, Onyeka, Fisayo, Chukwueze* to form the core of the Midfield regulars, let our eyes also be on the likes of:

-Hamzat Ojediran (DM)
-Ebenezer Akinsanmiro (CM/CAM)
-Ibrahim Akintunde Alani (CM)
-David Moses (CM)
-Anthony Dennis (CDM)
-Etc

Coz within these lads also lie upgrade possibilities and tactical varieties that could expand our midfield arsenal. , Ndidi wont be around for long. Same as Iwobi and Onyeka.

Chukwueze* is counted due to the tactical option he provides when given a free role as an AM.

he is the one. I wanted to say it but for some reason I forgot his name. You can fault him for many things but consistency is not part of them. His hate has always been there even tho it's useless
a dedicated hater, I respect that 😀

There's one thing we're missing here with this entire Osimhen's saga.

The whole thing isn't about him needing more money, it's just about the value that should be placed on a player, his caliber.

Should he choose to take a paycut at his prime just so he can continue to play in Europe, then, he will be doing those coming after him a huge disservice.

I'd rather he return to Napoli than take a paycut elsewhere.

“I don’t want to see him (Osimhen) in Saudi right now because he still has so much to offer in Europe. It would be a shame to see him go there. So maybe Arsenal, United, Juventus and PSG too [are his options]. Let’s see what happens.”

“We have to wait and see. But I think we want to see him in the Champions League, so maybe Arsenal might be the destination. Maybe there is a door open there for Victor.

“I’ve had a few conversations with him. I won’t say much about what those conversations were, but he is working to make sure he ends up at a top, top European league where he can showcase his talent and compete to win the Champions League.”

Osimhen has been working too... Since he started his professional career, is he supposed to go from €250k to €120k now?

Omo one thing is certain, any decision he makes, I'll always him, whether he takes a pay cut o, or goes to Saudi o, or stays at Galatasaray o... I'm a die hard Osimhen fan, but taking a pay-cut with his achievements at this age is not making any sense to me.

No European striker currently that will boast of Osimhen's numbers and achievements will take a pay-cut, the clubs will not even think of bringing that proposal in the first place.

What numbers ❓

Remove the highlights of the Turkish retirement league and tell.me his achievements in comparison to other top strikers.

This will tell you why not many clubs are willing to meet his huge wage demands.

Essentially he has had only one break out season in his entire career and that was when he won the scudetto with Napoli getting 27 league goals. Prior to that he was never scored more than 15 goals in a season, still very good but not world class pedigree in my opinion.

Trust me had it been oshimen accepted Chelsea offer last season with conditions for top bonuses like qualifying Chelsea for champions league to top it 10M annual wage.....by now that wage for him would've been reviewed and improved upon because surely he would've not just qualified Chelsea for champions league but make them compete for epl trophy and also win Chelsea the champions league

He would've been a house hold name now in the world of strikers and the most talked about in the EPL

IF he performed then he will able to demand whatever he wants.

But you can't demand wages 😭 by speculation.

Not g for Chelsea last season was not a good decision. I am so sure with his and presence Chelsea would've give the epl trophy a fight and might have scoop either of league or fa cup plus the conference cup. By now he will negotiating an improved salary and ready to go to Saudi when he is 31 or 32

If I were Eric Chelle, l would've called locally based players in order to create a wider pool of players in case of injuries, etc, than these ones who apply their trade abroad.

For instance, Bafana-bafana is divided into 3 strings of teams with different coaches using the same formation so that whenever each player is called into the first string, he is fully aware of the expected game philosophy.
A-string is preparing for the World Cup qualifying games in the absence of Sundowns players because they are preparing for the clubs' world cup.
Coach Vela Khumalo announced his Bafana COSAFA squad on Friday afternoon, with some of the players who have been dropped by Hugo Broos preliminary squad for the international friendly games between Tanzania & Mozambique. Khumalo recently guided the SA Under-17 Men's National Team to the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in QatarKaizer Chiefs coach takes charge of Bafana Bafana's COSAFA Cup team

Vela Khumalo - the Kaizer Chiefs reserve team coach - is in charge of the national team during the regional tournament.

The competition will be played between 4 & 15 June in Mangaung | Bloemfontein.

GROUP A: South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius, Zimbabwe
GROUP B: Angola, Namibia, Malawi, Lesotho
GROUP C: Tanzania, Madagascar, Eswatini
GROUP D: Zambia, Comoros, Botswana

Matches will be broadcast on SABC and SuperSport and streamed live on FIFA+.

Coach Khumalo is assisted by Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who is an assistant coach of under 20 AFCON Champions 2025. Meanwhile, Coach Molefi Ntseki will serve as technical advisor to the Bafana COSAFA squad. Ntseki also helped the SA Men’s National Team qualify for the CHAN tournament finals in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in August 2025.

Khumalo’s selection includes several players from Hugo Broos’s preliminary squad who didn’t make the cut for the June 2025 international friendly games against Tanzania and Mozambique. He also considered players likely to feature in the Bafana CHAN team.

This leakage and lineage of coaches and players of Bafana-bafana is one of the advanced development programs we've ever seen for continuity beyond the World Cup and AFCON tournament to be held in Morocco 🇲🇦.

Copied

Locally based players who are not 🚫 not good enough 😤 with dubious manufacturered ages 😨

The basis of selection is, outstanding consistent top level performances in your club and league, EOD. Not if you are a local based player.

I watched Ismaila the number 2 in the game against Jamaica, he was VERY POOR and a huge weak link against a B Jamaican side. Should never have been invited and he is claiming 21 😳

Oshimen is a good player oga
It is hard to negotiate such wage from the Turkish league. Last season he played for napoli, Chelsea was willing to pay him 6M per annual but on certain conditions of him qualifying them for champions league and winning at a least a trophy in the season to make his wage amount to 10M per annual.

He would've just signed it and trust me, now he would've been smiling to the bank.

Bitter truth that yes men guys will not want to hear. Delap and Gyokeres has had 5years of consistent goal scoring season and Osimhen with just one season and another in a kebab league should be earning lesser or the same amount with them

All of these players are demanding less than VO and in addition particularly Delap and Cunha are concerned they are EPL tested and proven in lower quality club's and have the potential to score more in a much more quality club like Manchester United.

There may be other considerations for instance Delap , Sesko and Ekitike are all 22 years young, clubs may add to value potential because of their young ages.

I don't think they have been consistently outstanding just consistent where Delap is concerned.

However, Gyokeres is crazy leaves the Championships many here don't rate it. Then goes to Portuguese league and destroys it last season he scored 29 goals this season 39 league goals from 33 games this is KRAZY.

Truth must be told his stats are better than VO in a much better league. Now everyone wants him.

Does that mean Championship is better and stronger than Portuguese league? Because he is finding it easier to put up those numbers there unlike when he was in the Championship. He is not also getting much attention in the transfer, even with the fact that he is cheaper.
