JAMB: Again, Mmesoma Breaks UTME Record In Anambra

Another Nmemsoma, but now Obiora-Nwokedi Nmesoma, a student of Queens Convent Awka in Anambra State, has set a new academic record in her school by scoring 343 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) resit.

The Anglican Church-owned institution celebrated the exceptional achievement, especially after Nmesoma’s earlier score of 165 in the controversial initial exam, which the t ission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) blamed on technical glitches.

The initial incident left many students distraught, with reports of psychological distress and even a tragic suicide. However, Nmesoma refused to be defined by the flawed system. Encouraged by her teachers and school community, she sat for the rescheduled exam and delivered an extraordinary performance.

Speaking with our correspondent, the school's principal, Dr. Martha Ibezim, credited the feat to the school’s commitment to academic excellence, holistic development, and a rigorous learning environment. She praised the dedication of the faculty and the school’s investment in quality education.

“Nmesoma’s resilience and brilliance have not only secured her a promising future but have also brought immense pride to Queens Convent,” Dr. Ibezim stated. “Her story is a powerful reminder of perseverance and the importance of systems in education.”

"Nmesoma is a star pupil. Her determination, combined with the she received from our faculty, helped her overcome a disheartening setback,” Ibezim stated.

Nmesoma’s achievement stands as a beacon of hope and determination, showing how students can overcome setbacks and thrive when given a second chance and the right environment. Her success reinforces Queens Convent Awka’s standing as a hub for academic and personal excellence.

Congrats to her and the school in general. A positive news against enemies of hardwork and merit. Success is sure at the end of your struggles if you persist.

It was not a glitch. It was a cover-up. The error was discovered after the 17th session but they went ahead to release the wrongly marked results like that.

It was a cover-up, in which they were caught out.

The Mmesoma drama last year was just to show the rot in the GenZ generation. That entitled and corrupt generation will give the world trouble.
