This month-old opinion video was posted by a respected journalist who runs a YouTube channel. Do you agree with his assessment that Nigeria is approaching the status of a failed state where anarchy and corruption rule?

And it's not considered a failed state when a known drug lord, certificate forger, and power-hungry buccaneer engaging in state capture is in power?

It would be fair to say that the location any given Nigerian lives would inform their opinion about whether Nigeria is a politically stable country, or is an entity that is teetering precariously on the ragged edge of an abyss similar to the one that swallowed Somalia and Sudan.

If one were fortunate to be a well-heeled resident of Lagos' more affluent areas where security is tight, then Nigeria would feel like a nice safe place to live and work. If one happened to live in Nigeria's volatile bandit country in the north, or in the south east where gunmen roam with impunity, the perception of anarchy and imminent mortal danger would be hard to shake.

A contraption where thousands are killed and displaced from their ancestral lands without the army and police doing anything to dislodge the invaders is INDEED A FAILED COUNTRY.
What is the excuse for failing to dislodge terrorists? Are they stronger than the military or is the military intentionally not doing anything to help the displaced citizens? Whatever is the reason, the conclusion one can come to is the fact that Nigeria is a FAILED COUNTRY.
When tribalism and whatever sentiments beclouds your judgment to the point where you can't 7say things the way they are, then truth is far from you.
If by your definition, the average description of the situation of a territory is subject to individual interpretation, then you're not educated. Kidnapping and abduction with massive ransom payment is at its highest at any point in the history of Nigeria. The attacking, killing of farmers and destruction of farmlands is also at its highest point in Nigeria's history. Any foreigner will ask about the function of the Nigerian police and other security bodies. The answer they will readily get is that the citizens are victims to both terrorists and the Nigerian security bodies including the police and army. How else do you define a failed country or state? It wasn't this bad under Jonathan yet the people claiming all is well now were all baying for his blood in 2014/15. One can see the level of their hypocrisy.

Nigeria is not yet a failed nation
But we are dangerously getting close to a failed nation

If tinubu completes 8 years borrows 50 billion dollars over this period... I see naira to dollar rate at not less than ₦3500 to a dollar

Minimum wage would be 100k or 150k but would be less than 50 dollars

Corruption would increase

Armed forces personal would take their arms to rub and even that won't be enough

Economics wise the only thing saving Nigeria now is the dollars yahoo boys and diaspora population bring it.. Else it would have be disasters

I made an assumption that Lagos must be safe because I never actually live there but only visit the place, during which it appears safe compared to other parts of Nigeria.

My prediction about the naira exchange rate is even more dire than your bleak assessment. I fully expect that the naira will depreciate to an exchange rate of 10,000 to one dollar, whereby a million naira will equal just 100 US dollars within 8 years from now.

Much of Lagos is indeed safe - to the extent that it is largely untroubled by the spectacular killings and kidnappings by bandits roaming the country. Specifically, elite neighborhoods are specially safe.

Lagos is one of the most unsafe place in Nigeria... I grew up in South South from South East schooled in South East

I was not ready for the constant vigilance you have to be in Lagos else you would be rubbed

Traffic robbery? You can't try that in Enugu or owerri or port Harcourt not even warri can a robbery happen in traffic light
