While the club's approach to sustainability and long-term planning is commendable, Chelsea fans are understandably feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. The shift from the Roman Abramovich era—where spending was aggressive and immediate success was prioritized—to a more strategic, data-driven model has created mixed emotions among ers.

Fans don’t just crave financial prudence; they want results. They want a team that competes at the highest level, not just promises of future dominance. Spending on young talents is great, but when performances on the pitch don’t reflect ambition, skepticism arises. The disappointment stems from recent inconsistencies, managerial instability, and unconvincing performances despite significant investment.

Yes, ownership is ensuring financial longevity, but fans still need to see clear progress. Winning is the culture Chelsea fans were raised on. If the strategy doesn’t translate into immediate improvements, patience will continue wearing thin. The demand is simple—smart spending is fine, but results must follow.

Let’s hope the latest gs bring tangible success on the pitch, rather than just looking good on paper.

Abeg which Financial Prudence Boehly dey practice?

They didn't find clever ways of spending in every window. In fact, we have a lot of craps to offload now because we spent foolishly in the last windows.

What's the essence of buying Veiga, Felix, when they would be loaned out? Why g washed players like Sterling and jakujaku Jackson? Now, we are faced with righting the wrongs by offloading them, when we could have used the funds on quality players to fill important positions of weakness in the team, once and for all.

The need for a top quality striker was there since over a season ago, and they were foolish to have sidestepped it.

There’s definitely valid frustration over Chelsea’s transfer decisions in recent windows. While the idea of long-term squad building is commendable, poor spending and misjudged gs have created a situation where the club is now scrambling to offload deadweight instead of reinforcing key areas.

The g of players like Veiga and Felix, only for them to be loaned out, raises serious questions about planning and squad management. Likewise, investing in washed or unfit players instead of directly addressing the club’s most pressing needs—like a top-quality striker, which has been missing for over a season—is baffling. Instead of spending wisely to fill weaknesses, money has been thrown at experiments that haven’t yielded results.

Of course, mistakes in transfers are not exclusive to Chelsea. Even a well-structured club like Manchester City has had unclever spending, with Jack Grealish and Doku failing to live up to expectations. No club gets every transfer perfect, but the real issue is whether lessons are learned and adjustments are made in future windows.

For Chelsea, it’s time to shift from reckless spending to precise investments. The club must prioritize strategy over impulse, ensuring that every g aligns with the squad’s actual needs rather than just taking unnecessary risks. Hopefully, the errors of past windows serve as a wake-up call, pushing the club toward smarter decisions moving forward.

Our first team this epl season was sanchez, gusto, tosin, colwill, cucurella, caicedo, enzo, madueke, palmer, sancho, jackson.

And our aim should be to improve this eleven, sanchez improved this year and jorgenson did well, but glad to be having petrovic and penders as options this summer. a fit James replaces out of form gusto. if sancho leaves, we need a new lw or hope estevao and paez star there. the biggest issue upfront was getting a top 9 that could replace Jackson, but we got delap a slightly better version of what we have.

Petrovic, James, tosin, colwill, cucurella, caicedo, enzo, estevao, palmer, new lw/neto, delap

Another season to fight for top four again, there's no lw in the market now that can give me that osimhen/gyorekes vibe or salah impact

That was a massive very rare privilege because we had a benevolent Billionaire in Roman, who just personally underwrote the associated losses. Even then with FFP, he still did what he could.

Y'all need to keep up with the business side of football.

We are in a new era of sustainability and strategy needs to change as a result. Times have changed and we need to get with the program.

We should be grateful that we have owners who are actually finding clever ways of spending every window, buying good young players and protecting the future of the club.

Only 3 days after season end, we don knack better quality, signed and sealed. Other clubs are praying for this type of spending power, will, and efficiency.

Truer words have never been said. Albeit there have been some few misjudged statements made by the Boehly led board though.

They found clever ways of spending. They literally invented the 8-year contract strategy..... allowing the club to spend more on players, showing amortisation, without breaking the bank in any particular season. In fact, it was so clever, UEFA came after it.

Did they make stupid decisions along the way, absolutely! .....Thaat comes with the strategy they are employing.

For every bum we have purchased, this strategy has also brought us the likes of Palmer, Caicedo, Enzo, Lavia, Santos, and looking at bright prospects from the likes of Estevao, Paez, Essugo, Guiu, Delap, Quenda. Let's be fair, none of these players will get a sniff during our previous ownership. We just wouldn't be in the market for them.

I should mention, this is not a debate about which strategy works better. It's just a statement to remind us all that ownership has changed, and so has direction. The earlier we accept it, the less frustrated we will be.

There's a general dearth of reasonably-priced quality in the market. That said, I will still look at one of Rodrygo, Williams, Gittens.

gittens is most likely yet is he worth 50m+

if I were maresca or the board I would suggest trying paez on the left preseason, tyriq. George may go on loan. I doubt williams would come on cheap salary and bang 10+ goals. is rodrygo even in the market, that boy isn't a consistent lw for madrid for us to be thinking about him like that. If chelsea have that 100m, let them approach PSG and test if they can get 1 out of the 3 quality left wingers they have

Players retire in their 30s after peaking in their 20s. But In england and chelsea, they are trying to retire you after 24, 25 when you still have legs to play. That means mbappe cannot play in england. This is not fair. Let's stop shortening the career span of these players before their peak years when most players under 25 haven't proven anything at all. E.g Michael Jackson, hojlund. Drogba was a late bloomer

Who are the qualities in Chelsea? Madueke, Neto, Jackson, Delap 😂😂😂

Apart from Salah how many quality dey Liverpool.

Havertz, Martinelli, trossard, sterling 😂😂

Person go think say na Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Suarez all those teams carry for team. Una go just dey carry talk
So what happened to your Benzema and Bale? grin

So now, when trying to criticize a team for parading “inferior” players, suddenly you acknowledge that Messi, Neymar, and Suarez represent elite-level talent,
If Messi, Neymar, and Suarez are your reference point for greatness, why were they missing from your original “top 3” list? 🤔

When hate clouds judgment, logic goes out the window.

Shekpites will Always be shekpites. Reference for greatness bawo. You can't tell the difference between listing random world class attackers and creating an actual front three list. The only correct answer remains Ronaldo, Benzema and bale for the greatest front line. Stop crying
