As A Farmer Who Doesn't Buy Rice: This Is How I Process My Rice (video/pics) (17841 Views)

occfx: The same Brits were haggling out fishing rights with Europe as the last component of Brexit for such a long time. Agric in the UK and Europe are closed industries controlled by families for centuries. Try to go into the UK and see how you can break into Billings market as a fish merchant. See how it works out. Agric business in many countries are controlled by cartels. Do you know what those who supply food to US soldiers in their warships and submarines make? Those who got us to abandon agriculture really got us good. |

Bring me a banker, lawyer or doctor, not a farmer. 2020 (Doctors have all ran abroad because of low wage and bankers/lawyers are mostly broke now). 2020 to 2025 Daughter: Mom, this is who I want to marry. Nice one... And that rice go sweet die! Just like cooking and eating fish freshly gotten from the river or lake, compared to the frozen and stored one. Land wey we go use take do massive agriculture for South, na we dey use build hotels, filling stations, and amusement parks or malls. At the end of the day... Average citizens can't patronise those facilities, and food still cost anyhow. 1 Like |

LocalFARMERS:How do you de-stone your rice? Nigerian farmers sell their expensive rice without de-stoning. Do you think if one was to operate a rice de-stoning services it’ll sell amongst local farmers ? 1 Like 1 Share |

GreaterFuture: Crops that thrive in swampy areas during the rainy season and can be harvested twice a year include: 1. Ugu (Fluted Pumpkin - Telfairia occidentalis) – Grows well in waterlogged areas and can be harvested multiple times by plucking the leaves. 2. Cocoyam (Colocasia esculenta/Xanthosoma sagittifolium) – Prefers wet conditions and matures in 5-7 months, with early varieties allowing for two harvests. 3. Waterleaf (Talinum triangulare) – Grows rapidly in swampy areas and can be harvested multiple times. 4. Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) – Thrives in waterlogged soils and can be harvested twice yearly if well managed. 5. Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) – Certain varieties do well in wet conditions and can produce continuously for months. 6. Banana/Plantain (Musa spp.) – Not seasonal, but suckers keep producing after the main harvest. Would you prefer crops for food or cash crops for commercial purposes? Watianoengineer:You want to claim educated but ended up sounding like a dunce all in a bid to sound woke! So every graduate will just trek and anywhere the person sees a bush,he claims it as his own and start farming with his hands. He then goes to any house where he sees a rice or yam seedling for example, picks as many as possible and goes back to the land he tilled with his hands alone and start planting. Then he leaves the farm and goes back when it's harvest time to harvest the produce. There is of course buyers already queuing up to buy up all the harvested produce!! |

People making it big in farming are people farming for others. They have this plots of land but can't farm it all because of capital. They invite you to come and them. You pay for Labour fertilizer fuel for irrigation twice weekly and herbicides if needed on the farm. They use your labour to farm theirs, your fuel to irrigate theirs. They might buy fertilizer for themselves if the left overs from those they are farming for is not enough for their own plot. During harvest, you are invited so you won't feel cheated. Smart. |

It's because you are poor financially and mentally. Na fresh u dey find, no be money. Jim Iyke and Ramsey Noah fresh Dangote far. But deep pockets no be by fresh. 10 kg of cocoa can buy 2 bags of rice of 50kg and change go still remain. I mean only 10kg ohh. So u see that dirty cocoa farmer with 2 acres, 1 hectare and above, no be ur papa mate in of pocket deepness. U see that ur fresh guy wey get fashion boutique, wey dey shine on a daily basis, always well dressed and smelling nice, 1 hectare cocoa harvest dey open 20 of those boutiques plus 2 cars and change go still remain.
