Microsoft in Talks to Acquire TikTok Amidst Ongoing Security Concerns - Donald Trump.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that Microsoft is in talks to acquire TikTok, amidst uncertainty surrounding the app's future in the United States. This development comes after a US law ordered TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, to divest its ownership or face a ban in the country.

Trump revealed that there's significant interest in TikTok, and a potential bidding war could be beneficial. The US government's concerns stem from fears that the Chinese government might exploit TikTok to spy on Americans or influence public opinion.

In response to the impending ban, Trump suspended its implementation for two and a half months to facilitate negotiations with Beijing. TikTok temporarily shut down in the US as the deadline approached but restored services after Trump promised to issue an executive order delaying the ban.

This acquisition, if successful, would mark a significant shift in the tech landscape.

Microsoft's interest in TikTok underscores the app's immense popularity and potential for growth. As the situation unfolds, it's clear that the future of TikTok in the US hangs in the balance.

The acquisition talks are ongoing, with Microsoft potentially acquiring TikTok's US operations. This move could have far-reaching implications for the tech industry, data privacy, and global politics. As the story develops, one thing is certain – the fate of TikTok in the US will have significant consequences.

I wonder why I feel Americans and most in the world will trust a Microsoft owned TikTok less than a China owned TikTok.

Sometimes I just pity China. They ban American apps in their country but want Americans to use theirs. Unfortunately, their alternatives to Americans are still not global

Same way they feel when using Windows OS. If you can trust Windows OS, what’s in Microsoft owned TikTok that you won’t trust?

Today I learnt that the only way USA can survive is to make sure that other countries do not develop!!

Anything that will make your country prosper is a threat to USA.

USA want to have all the good things
Then only them can share it with their friends
While other countries remain poor and dependent on US

That is how they have managed to stay at the top for many many years..

China would prefer to have a stake in the market than to lose it completely.

They are not petty - this is a state that has a framework and principles and most importantly Template for their nation.

They understand the boundaries of their national sphere .... They know where they're going, and yes, it might not be understood by you. Cos you don't even know what they know (what they think) about their country ....

They're not like the animal farms we have in Africa and call them countries - without future or without any framework which they believe is the blueprint for them.

I'm glad some countries though are making progress in Africa ...

Although most are still animal farms. And you know the first (the number one; the numero uno) animal farm in Africa

The US doesn’t trust Chinese apps like TikTok because of fears they could spy on Americans or manipulate opinions. Funny enough, China doesn’t even allow American apps like Facebook or Google in their country. It’s a double standard, but it’s all about control and protecting their data. Now, with Microsoft eyeing TikTok, it’s clear this isn’t just about social media—it’s a big tech and political power game.

Americans are not the world. Stick to America. America has a law mandating their companies both hardware and software to leave backdoors in whatever they're shipping outside America.

I doubt any other country does that. America has propaganda and misinformation put into law and they budget billions for that every year. That same thing they accuse others of is America using their propaganda funds to project on others

Why not stick to the boundaries of their national sphere? They are everywhere trying to police the world. Shame on you for calling Africa animal farms. You're definitely the the dumbest of all the animals

As I said, a feeling. Perhaps because I'm the paranoic who distrusts Windows OS, which I've been using since Windows 2.0 and their MS-DOS before that. I just find I need to keep burglary proofing to keep them out of my business.

Americans will trust a Microsoft owned Tiktok more. If something goes horribly wrong with the data of an American, they can sue Microsoft. If it happens with a Chinese company, what will they do?
