The federal government published its budget projections for the next three years and stated that it had borrowed more money from the CBN this year than the law permitted. In other words, the government is overprinting money.

Wow, the CBN Governor had recently stated they would no longer extend Ways & Means to the government until existing balances are paid.

It's troubling if the published FGN budget contradicts that. Realistically though the government revenue vs expenditure is very poor even after the revocation of fuel subsidy. So we continue to read of $2 billion loans here and there.

The naira stability of the past few months has to be monitored carefully.
