Congratulations, it's a good product, you'll enjoy it, it's worth the money. Do post here about how and where you got the mc4 to xt60 cable.

There's a car charger to xt60 cable included in the pack. I've been wondering if it's possible to adapt (i. e. Cut and 😆) it for the solar mc4 connection...
Babatundehy: 7:37am On Nov 07, 2024
Yeah that came with mine too, and I had the same thought, I don't drive so much and I don't intend to move the power station around, that makes the cable near useless to me.
I won't be proceeding because from my research and answers to questions I got from the official Ecoflow group on Facebook, I was told that car charger cable is designed to not pull more than 100 watts so as not to burn the cigarette lighter port of the car, and that it would limit the amperage allowed to through from the solar s.

Oh that makes sense. I must've skipped that. In that case, let the hunt begin.

on that note, if you're in lagos, there's this:

I'm not in lagos so I'll exhaust all my options here before I consider waybilling from lagos.

Thank you, I'll be using that link, already talked to the seller, I'll be getting it sent over to me, can't find it anywhere else. I got my solar extension cables yesterday, I got 4mm, better too thick than too thin, distance from the to the ecoflow is about ten metres.

Hi guys,

What about locally made Power stations? I made a research and found Joshnka power stations. Pls what do you think of his products? I’m considering getting one of 768Wh and buying a of 300Watts with it.

Thanks in anticipation.

Happy to hear.

I checked around the city where I stay but no one even knows about xt60. So I guess I'll have to order from the vendor too. I'm in Akure. Wish I knew someone coming from Lagos...

I believe this xt60 cable is only one meter long. Will it be cut and ed with the 4mm cable?

Also, do you think it's wise to use a 550W 48v jinko . Or will it be better to combine 200W 24v in series? I'm presently considering which to go for.

I am in Akure too lol, I walked all of arakale axis to adegbola yesterday, no one even knows what the cable is, I went there with pictures but it still didn't help.
I placed the order from the vendor today and I was told they ship the next day (tomorrow). I ordered for the one meter cable (20k) with delivery makes 24k, let me see what happens tomorrow after delivery so we confirm how true the seller is, and what the cable is like before you proceed.
I am not sure, but I think a clean job will be buying extra male and female mc4 connectors and installing them on the other end of the cable coming from the solar s, that other end with the mc4 connectors installed will be plugged into the mc4 connectors on the other end of the Xt60 cable, a picture of this looks cleaner in my head.
You got the delta, I think the 550watts jinko you mention will work good for you, some people prefer to buy two s (e.g 250*2) claiming should there be some sort of hazard/damage then there'll be a left, i prefer the single one.

I have never heard of it before your mention, so I went to their website to have a look, just from looking I can tell the people making these power stations are definitely cutting back on quality, that makes efficiency and safety a concern.
The pictures of the products on their website don't look appealing at all, a power station with Inverter not in the same casing? weird, their choice of Inverter is definitely cheap, I know those inverters, what our people here call sachet inverters.
The prices are appealing considering the stated WH when compared to other brands, I haven't used any of their products but I am sure you'll not get fast charging function and a very good and smart battery management system like what you'll find with the Ecoflow products.
I'll advise you save some more and buy something better, if you saved 350k you sure can save 600k. I was determined to buy a Nigerian brand ( patronise our own people), found an intelligent guy on X he owns a brand that makes power stations, zedora.io is his website, after chatting him up and he gave me detailed spec i had to abort, his products also have just one year warranty, Ecoflow has 5. This guy makes better power stations when compared with this joshnka, you can check his website.

You're in Akure? How coincidental 🤯.
I know the gadget world vendor. I know their store from my days of trying to fix my broken pixel 6a (earlier this year, lol). So I feel it should be assessable. They were trying to get me to order their s (200w) but I think I'd rather buy in Akure due to cost of delivery., although its quite pricey here too 😔
Regarding s, what kinds are you using?

Oh wow that's cool, I was doubting them 😂, Yeah I am in Akure, after asking around and having done my own research, I decided to go with AFRICELL, the 300 watts mono I bought cost me 83,000 naira, bought at arakale.

Very good analysis. Thanks for that. Definitely, my findings stumbled upon ecoflow on Reddit and it was great reviews I was seeing there.

This is probably 1 week since I’ve been carefully making my findings on his products. He has been in business for about 9 years now. He has worked and evolved on different models so far so good. From my discovery, he used a LifePO4 (12.8V and 60Ah) for this Particular model connected to a BMS. Aside the fact that he exaggerates his products running time, I have sorted reviews from Facebook, google and even here on Nairaland (when I use the search button) and they were all good. I made sure to confirm if these s are in any way related to him, but majority of them are not. The part of his work which I don’t seem to like is the same part you mentioned (having an external modified sine wave sachet inverter).

I use the Qasa Solar Generator, and I can tell you for a fact that it’s good enough but outrageously expensive, but I’ve given it out. I intend to risk it since I’m an LGA close to his office and he has warranty on his product. Most importantly, for him to be in business for so many years now tells the experience the man must have had in the power station business. Of course he is a business man who wants profit, this is why I am considering the 768Wh model. If I take out the 80% DOD and the 70% efficiency from the inverter, I’d still get a decent Capacity to run my DC fan and small appliances through the night. My concern now is that his solar is way too expensive.

I don’t even know what my worries are to be frank.

Where in Arakale please? Also, is it possible to ask the vendor to send 2 pieces of the xt60 cable tomorrow. I can pay from here.
Guess I can sort this whole thing this weekend. National grid been falling like dry twigs from a dead tree. Can't deal any longer

I agree with you, I see your reasons, you're close to him you say, so no issues. If your appliances are so light, then no problems, you say fan and I'm assuming maybe led tv, lights and recharging phone. You don't really need something too serious, you need for the night so.
I got the river 2 pro to power my 100 watts double door inverter fridge (draws about 80 watts after a while) that i never turn off, 450 watts blender and 310 watts washing machine when I need them. What constantly runs on my river 2 pro are the refrigerator, DC fan (draws 11 watts at max speed), Few hours of TV (43 inches draws 28 watts) and amazon firestick (draws 2 watts), and laptop (ocassionally) my total load is almost always a little less than 200 watts.
My point is, your total load should not even be up to 100 watts, you have a DC fan, TV, a streaming stick/DStv, energy saving bulbs, this guy's power station should work great for you, all the appliances you mentioned don't get affected by modified sine wave power, you may not need what Ecoflow offers.
Can't you buy Third party solar s? if you do buy his power station, let us know how it serves you, I love homemade things.

Africell is good, I'm yet to use it to charge the power station, as I'm still waiting for the mc4 to Xt60 cable, at the store where I bought (at about 1pm) it was tested with a multimeter and voltage of charge was about 37, current was about 7.8 (not under load) that's good enough i think.

This grid thing is a serious problem, luckily the power comes on here for about 3-4hours, refrigerator works throughout that time and Ecoflow is already fully charged within an HR so I just use the stored charge for a few more hours and I'm okay until the next day waiting for BEDC, during the rainy season it was a lot better.
The number I chatted up told me delivery is only after payment and that sending the item out is only done the day after delivery, they seem to be strict with their 9am-4pm time, my chat from yesterday evening wasn't replied to until after 9am today, but I'll see how it goes tomorrow and update here.

Very good analysis. I like the fact that you understood my point. I don’t really need it for heavy load as I usually get enough light here in day, but for some nights when there is no light or issue with the Grid, I can just use it.

Definitely, I’ll be getting it soon, God’s grace, and will let you know how far with it.
