Firstly, you are one involved here and not your friend. Try to be honest, u won't lose anything from being Honest.
Secondly, u didn't tell us why your acclaimed friend's mum is against the relationship. There must be a cogent reason as to why she's against it.
Thirdly, your acclaimed friend should man up and tell his mum that he loves the lady and the lady loves him back. And that she must have to give her consent else he will have to undermine her authority as a mother and go on with the relationship
Lastly, tell your friend to go hustle his own money before that his girlfriend will start insulting him
