You are right, e.g stealing is of lesser sin than fornication before God but the society seems to normalise the later than the former. May God protect us all .

I don't understand. Didn't the bible say that the wages of sin is death(Romans 6:23)? How does that exhalt one sin from another if at the end all sins lead to death and destruction

Some sins attracts higher punishment. E.g Blasphemy. Blasphemy is a Capital sin. The Jews accused Jesus of committing a Capital sin. And death is the punishment for that. They accused Him of making equal with God.

If u read Deutronomy and Leviticus, the are punishments attached to sins one commits depending on the gravity of their sins. E.g An adulterous man or woman caught in the act, would be stoned to death.

If that is so, then we all are the same since we all sin. A murderer is same as one who bears anger against his brother.

Matthew 10:14-15 (KJV)

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Even John the beloved, (my favorite apostle by the way) also confirmed this.
