gidgiddy: Can you stop writing rubbish. No such thing as term limit for VP. You guys will just sit down and write nonsense to your political sentiment. Just say you prefer Atiku as President because you think it will gather more vote than Obi as President The deputy Governor of Lagos has been deputy Governor 3 times. |

https://saharareporters.com/2025/05/08/tinubu-presidency-claims-imf-debt-cleared-data-shows-n274billion-still-owed-charges The headline in the publication above from Saharareporters is misleading and deliberately done to deceive the public and to feed those with negative disposition towards Nigeria. Nigeria has paid over 3.4 billion dollars it borrowed from IMF. And currently does not owe IMF any legacy debt, hence the reason IMF has removed Nigeria from the list of country indebted to it as shown below: https://www.legit.ng/business-economy/economy/1653933-reactions-nigeria-successfully-clears-debt-owed-imf/ As reported in the body of the saharareportes (after deceiving the public with the headline) as sated below, Nigeria has paid the full amount of money (principal) borrowed from IMF. Although Nigeria may have met its scheduled principal repayments, the IMF still lists charges and interest under "overdue obligations and projected payment funds," indicating that the country remains indebted in that regard.. IMF asked Nigeria to pay the interest/istrative charges which is about 171Million dollars in small tranches in 5 years. Sahara reporters, with deliberate intention to exaggerate wrote Nigeria is owing 274 billion naira instead of stating it in dollars (171Millon dollars) to create an impression of large sum of money. Nigeria did not pay off the about 171Million USD because IMF does not want Nigeria to pay it off once. The 171 million dollar is interest free. No businessman or country will pay off an interest free money once when the institution you are paying it to allow you to pay it in 5 years in small bits interest free. As at today, Nigeria does not owe IMF any Legacy debt as clearly stated by IMF in its Website below by removing Nigeria from the list of countries indebted to IMF. https://www.imf.org/external/np/fin/tad/balmov2.aspx?type=TOTAL |

For a self acclaimed feminists, it shows Chimamamda Adichie is a hypocrite for getting her twins through Surrogacy. Sweden as one of the most human right advance country banned Surrogacy because it is Exploitation of a woman's body. It is even worse than Prostitution. It is simply taking advantage of another woman's body by paying money. Surrogacy arrangements are not allowed within Swedish healthcare (SOU 2016:11), but there are agencies that help couples and singles to carry out surrogacy pregnancies abroad. India was a common destination before that country banned foreign couples' surrogacy (Arvidsson et al., 2019; Sydsjö et al., 2019).14 May 2020 https://journals.sagepub.com Constructions of surrogates, egg donors, and mothers: Swedish ... 3 Likes |

National Protest: Resort to ballot for regime change – Kwankwaso to Nigerians Published on July 27, 2024 Ahead of the nationwide protest scheduled to commence on August 1, 2024, a former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has onished the organizers to shelve the plan. Kwankwaso, who is the national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, said they should rather make use of the ballot. He said regime change through democratic means would be more efficient against an incompetent government than protests. In a statement he personally signed on Friday night, Kwankwaso emphasized that effective and lasting change can be achieved through the power of the ballots not protests. “It is with a deep sense of responsibility that I share my thoughts on the current situation in Nigeria. “We find ourselves in avoidable hardship because our leaders missed some steps since 2007. “However, there is always room for correction and setting the country on the right track for economic development, prosperity, and better welfare of citizens,” he said. Kwankwaso highlighted several crises stemming from poor governance, such as federal interference in Kano State’s chieftaincy matters, the impeachment of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, political turmoil in Rivers State and widespread insecurity. “Interferences by the Federal Government into the affairs of the chieftaincy matters in Kano State, impeachment of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, political crisis in Rivers State, sabotage to AIiko Dangote refinery, controversies surrounding SAMOA agreement, the conflict between Sen. Ali Ndume and the APC Leadership, widespread insecurity and other criminal acts are a few examples of avoidable and unnecessary crises,” he said. He argued that those issues were symptomatic of a lack of ability and transparency. “It is sad to note that the attitude of our leaders to poor governance has plunged the citizens, especially youth, into hunger, insecurity, hopelessness, and a sense of giving up on the country,” Kwankwaso remarked. He called on Nigerian leaders at all levels to urgently address those challenges by ensuring good governance and adherence to the rule of law. Acknowledging the recent calls for protests, Kwankwaso recognized the collective frustration and yearning for a better Nigeria but cautioned against the potential consequences of such actions. He urged Nigerians to consider the power of their vote as the most effective tool for change. “In these trying times, our nation stands at a crossroads. Our collective frustration with bad governance has reached a boiling point, and the urge to protest is strong. “As an elder and patriotic Nigerian, I share your concerns and your desire for change. “However, I urge you to consider the consequences of national protests and to channel your energy into a more effective and peaceful means of transformation through the power of your ballot,” Kwankwaso advised. Kwankwaso warned that protests, while a fundamental democratic right, often escalated into violence, leading to loss of lives, destruction of property, and widespread chaos. “The repercussions of such actions extend far beyond the immediate moment, leaving scars on our communities and deepening divisions among us. “I speak to you not just as an elder and a concerned citizen but as someone who deeply believes in the power and potential of our great nation. “Let us put our country first and work together to build the Nigeria we all aspire to see,” he advocated. https://dailypost.ng/2024/07/27/national-protest-resort-to-ballot-for-regime-change-kwankwaso-to-nigerians/ |

johnmartus:Yes. But Nigeria govt can't do that because they don't even have enough to fund the Budget. Only a stupid president or a shallow leader like the former President of Venezuela will give crude oil at subsidised rate to refineries when it has over 30 percent Budget Deficit while using 45% of its revenue to service debt. Venezia did it and the country ended up much poorer. 1 Like 1 Share |

The price of fuel or PMS will not drop significantly if any because of Dangote refinery or any other local Refinery including those owned by the govt/NNPCL. We need to Wake up from our false hope . Crude oil is priced on international price. Crude oil investment is done in dollars by oil companies. They will sell to Dangote at international price. Nigeria doesn't own all the oil produce in Nigeria. And also Nigeria need oil money at international price to be able to perform its budget and monthly federal allocation to states. So the Crude oil to Dangote and other local Refinery including those owned by by the Govt will receive crude at international price. Dangote refinery and other local refineries including govt owned refineries are a major investment in dollars with alot of foreign bank loans and foreign investors and foreign technical experts Local Refinery can only reduce the price of PMS by 50 naira per litre maximum which is the cost per litre in transporting PMS from Europe and Asia to Nigeria. However, since there is already some subsidy in the current PMS at 600 to 700 naira, dangote refinery /Local Refinery won't reduce the price . it will only reduce the cost of subsidy by the govt by about 50 naira . But dangote refinery will bring Jobs, Energy security and profit tax to Nigeria. And will also improve forex situation a little not significantly. 2 Likes 1 Share |

i agree with Reno. Wike would have done better than Okowa in galvanizing votes. With Wike, Obidient would have been weaken in the South East. Wike would have played vocal tribal politics with South East and prevent LP total control of South East. He would have made South east environment fertile for PDP rigging. Also, wike would have been going from church to church too like Obi and prevent Obi total control of christian votes. However, some persons believed Atiku would have done poorer in the North with Wike. Personally i doubt it . Wike would have had so much impact in the media and social media in causing controversy for APC and LP. However, I don't know if Atiku would have won. But he would have done better. And the election would have been more competitive for APC. 6 Likes |

Why exclude ANAMBRA STATE: Obiano vs Peter Obi. Obiano accused Obi of asking him to pay him some money which he refused. Obi took Obiano 2nd election as his personal fight. Campaigning vigorously against Obiano during Obiano 2nd Term election. But Anambra people still voted Obiano. 62 Likes 12 Shares |

drlateef:Yorubas have more population and should be more in number. Yorubas have 8 states if we include kwara and kogi west. The statistics is showing percentage per state that is why edo is highest I am Edo, From Uromi, Esan north east in particular. It is true alot of Edo girls( Mostly Esan and Bini very few from Afemai (Estako/owan) went to europe in late 90s and up to say 2012 mostly for prostitution. Most of the boys went through land to italy mostly to sell drugs. It also true that many of those people made sacrifice for thier families and siblings. They sponsored their siblings and extended family in school up to university level. So today you have many edo people migrating to UK, Canada, US, through education route, care visa, Nursing/Medicine work permit, skilled visa, Canada express entry, US Eb2 visa, etc. The population of Edo traveling through normal professional route is increasing and is now the majority of new migrants. but as at today, most remittance to edo state is still coming from those who went through prostitution and also those who went by land selling drug in Europe. however, I believe in another 20 years from now, the professional edo in diaspora will sur those who went for prostitution or drug pushing. Another fact is that, most of the girls who went to Europe like 10 years ago for prostitution are no longer doing prostitution. Many of them have got legal documents and are doing different legitimate job. Many of them have migrated from Italy to as single mother earning legitimate welfare money from , attending German language school and learning new skills to function in legitimate labour market. Although many of them went to Europe through prostitution, most of the money they are remitting today back home is not from prostitution. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Gadafii: nonsense. How was Obama 2nd term celebrated compared to his first term? A win by an incumbent hardly enjoy wild jubilation anywhere in the world. how wild was the jubilation when Soludo won Anambra election with APGA? How wild was the Jubilation when Makinde of PDP won Oyo 2nd term election ? How wild was the celebration when diri of PDP won 2nd term last week in Bayelsa? 2 Likes 1 Share |

When Aisha Yesufu was asked to present financial statements of their campaign, she refused and later said it will be published after supreme court decision. Supreme Court Decision is several weeks ago. She is not even talking about it anymore. But she is on twitter wishing evil on Nigeria in d name of Nigeria politicians are corrupt. A hypocrite. She is actually even as bad as the politicians in power. Her anger is not that politicians are corrupt. Her anger is that she is not the one benefitting from the corruption herself by being in power to steal or enriched herself like the current politicians in power enjoying the national cake 14 Likes 1 Share |
