rofemiguwa: I lived in Kent once albeit 10 years ago. I loved it. It had this beauty and serenity I think is cheaper to commute to London from Kent than Colchester. With a biased mind, I would go for Kent - there are lots of lovely villages on both the Charing Cross to Hastings and the Charing Cross to Ashford train lines and the massive advantage is that Kent is a grammar school area and there are lots of nice rural primary schools as well. 3 Likes |

Greetings Fam. Please any advice and info would be deeply appreciated. Been in Glasgow for close to a year now. Wifey and 2 kids are coming to me in all likelihood by the end of the year. I am doing a PhD which I am sponsored. My scholarship funding wont be enough for us obviously for the next 3 years or more duration. When she comes she will need to assist with work to be able to cater for the extra bills and mouths. She is looking to do care work during her time here, but she does not have medical or care background, apart from taking care of sick old parents in Nigeria. Her primary background is Telecoms and Customer Care Is there any advice that will enable her get an edge in her care application when she applies eventually? is there anything (course maybe) that she can do to boost her chances in the next 2 to 3 months before she travels from Nigeria? Is there anything I myself can do to ease her work chances from over here in Glasgow? |

Quick question please, who knows where I can get a covid PCR test done quickly. A friend needs it to travel to Nigeria from Glasgow and he claims it has to be done 48 hours before travel. He doesn't intend to spend more than £80 on this. Any pointers please? P.S. his flight to Lagos from Heathrow is 28th December, the one from. Glasgow to Heathrow is on the 27th. It's tricky |

No intention to derail. Just putting this out there for any help I can get. Arrived Glasgow on the 27th of November, stayed at a B&B for some days before moving into a recommended friend's flat in Maryhill road G20 where I am paying 400 pounds/month for a room. This arrangement is just for a month as the original room owner is due back in the first week of January. I am currently searching for a studio or one room in a flat to move in before January in Glasgow. I have searched all the relevant sites and found a few, and looks like I might be settling for a 600 pounds/month room in G1 cos of the aesthetics, flexibility of tenancy and proximity to the University of Strathclyde where I am doing my PhD, but it is quite pricey and was looking for something in the region of 400-500 pounds per month, and was hoping if anyone here has any information that might help. I would be most grateful |
