Scrapping of SIECs is unlikely because such a constitutional amendment still needs at least 24 states to ratify it and your guess is as good as mine as to whether most governors want INEC to be given the legal responsibility of conducting local government elections in their states.

One of the clauses that will surely be rejected by the states houses of assembly is transferring the responsibility of conducting local government elections from SIECs to INEC. Those SIECs were created by the houses of assembly in the first place and it will seem like oppression on them for the National Assembly to strip them of that power of oversight.

Ndi Igbo should be coming together rather than breaking themselves up into tiny bits. State creation has created so much division among Igbos to the extent that someone from Ebonyi cannot be appointed or elected into any position in Imo and so on. Igbos now bash and judge each other on the basis of statehood.
