Okpebholo is not informed.
He's grossly incompetent.
He doesn't even understand what court judgements are.
INEC did Edo people dirty by forcing Okpebholo on them. Tueh.

Asue Ighodalo will prevail in the end. Delay is not denial.
Some of our Nigeria judges are grossly corrupt. The election was massively rigged and the evidence speaks to itself.
Thank you USA Embassy for lending your voice to this.

We hope judiciary redeem themselves with this very obvious Edo election case.
APC, INEC and Okpebholo can't even defend their stolen mandate.
Let's see what the judiciary come up with.
It's sad how our democracy is being murdered by those trained and empowered to preserve it.

PDP and AI got all the evidence to prove their case this time and leave no rooms for "base on technicalities..."

Lies can't stay the test of time.
It's utterly shameful that opposition parties in Edo out of nothing to sell their candidates with in the forthcoming Governorship election have resorted to driving wrong narratives and engaging in inciting Edolites against the State government with their falsehood.
We can't sit and allow political jobbers create wrong narratives cum history for our posterity.
Let's separate politicking from historical occurrences for posterity sake.

It is not a herculean task to recognise a true advocate of a better Nigeria when you see one. You just demonstrated your strong desire to seeing a nation that works for all.
I keep telling fellow Obidients that the goal is not partisanship but adopting and ing a verifiable character whose competence, track records, antecedents, capacity, clarity of purpose are not in doubts while also considering fairness, equity and justice.
Like Peter Obi, Asue Ighodalo has been engaging various individuals from all works of life, evaluating issues and charting wayforward for a better Edo and the Nation at large. Any true Obidient standing against such character is wrong.

Labour Party Elects Anderson As Gov Candidate, Rejects Akpata

Times Newspaper

Daud Olatunji

In a significant turn of events, the Lamidi Apapa-led Labour Party has chosen Uwadiae Asemota Anderson, a seasoned lawyer and Managing Partner of Neplus Ultra, as its gubernatorial candidate for Edo state.

The decision was made during the party primaries held at the Golden Tulip Hotel Etete, GRA Benin City, Edo state.

Anderson secured a resounding affirmation with 188 votes, showcasing strong within the party.

The primaries were conducted by Chief Electoral Officer, Comrade Roland Daramola, and the Secretary of the electoral committee, Bishop Favour Reuben.

However, a twist occurred as another candidate, Olumide Akpata, emerged from the Julius Abire-led Labour Party, declaring victory with 316 votes in a separate exercise held in Benin City. This conflicting outcome led to a heated dispute within the party.

National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi, expressed dissatisfaction, denouncing Akpata’s candidacy as “ultra vires, non and void,” citing legal judgments from the Federal High Court in Owerri, the Court of Appeal in Owerri, and the Supreme Court in Abuja.

Arabambi questioned Akpata’s legitimacy and alleged ties to the PDP, emphasizing the party’s commitment to upholding court rulings.

The controversy further intensified as PLATFORM TIMES obtained court documents affirming the restraint of Abure, the candidate from the Abire-led faction.

A Federal High Court in Imo state, the Court of Appeal in Owerri, and the Supreme Court all upheld the decision that Alhaji Lamidi Apapa remains the acting chairman of the Labour Party.

Amidst these legal battles, Uwadiae Asemota Anderson stands as the undisputed candidate for the Lamidi Apapa-led faction, emphasizing stability and adherence to legal norms.

Anderson, a graduate of Ambrose Alli University, has an impressive legal background, having handled numerous election petition cases and civil matters.

His experience and track record in navigating legal challenges position him as a formidable candidate for the Labour Party in the gubernatorial election in Edo state.

As the election season unfolds, the Labour Party braces for a fierce contest, with Anderson leading the charge against other contenders.

The intricacies of party politics and legal battles add an extra layer of complexity to an already dynamic electoral landscape in Edo state.

In a recent development, Bar. Monday Ojore Mawah has been unveiled as the deputy governorship candidate for the Labour Party in the election in Edo state.

This announcement positions Mawah alongside Anderson as they embark on their political journey, representing the party in the crucial race ahead.

Obaseki: Ongoing reforms in Edo ‘ll save Nigeria $40 billion spent on medical tourism, education.

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said his istration is changing the narrative in the State’s education and health sectors, noting that the holistic reforms in the sectors will help Nigeria save the $40 billion spent to access healthcare and education.

Governor Obaseki stated this while fielding questions from journalists in Benin City, the Edo State capital after an inspection tour of the State-owned Stella Obasanjo Hospital, and the Edo State School of Health Technology, which are currently being upgraded to world-class standards.

He said his istration is changing the healthcare narrative in the State, making the State capital a healthcare hub by improving the health infrastructure and bringing it to a world-class standard.

According to Obaseki, “As a government, we promised the people to change the narrative of the health sector in the State. We are making Edo and Benin in particular a healthcare hub by making sure we improve the health infrastructure and bring it up to world-class standards.

“Healthcare is more about services and human capacity. While we are emphasizing the hospital, the primary health care centers and clinics, we are also ensuring that we create the institutions that will train the quality people we need to provide the quality care.

“The School of Health Technology is supposed to provide manpower for our primary healthcare system and our healthcare system as a whole. This is why we are making it a priority and making sure that the infrastructure is ready on time for accreditation so that we can start the institution afresh before I leave office.”

On the progress of the revamp of the Stella Obasanjo Hospital, the governor said, “the Out-Patient Department (OPD) is ready and the Inpatient Department is still under construction, with the wards, facilities, operational theaters and full complement of infrastructure to provide services across a wide range of areas.

“The challenge is that if we open the OPD and bring in a consultant and they want to perform a procedure, we would not want to send them to other facilities. We are re-working the delivery schedule to make sure that we know clearly when the inpatient department will be ready to enable us to synchronize and open one section three months before the other and not allow a long period before opening both.”

On repositioning the State’s health and education to save Nigeria the over 40 billion dollars spent on education and medical tourism, Obaseki noted, “As a country, we are in crisis. In the papers, the Central Bank Governor said Nigeria spent over $40 billion dollars accessing healthcare and educational services abroad. No normal or serious Country should behave like that.

“This is what we are trying to change in Edo State. We are working to create a healthcare system and educational institution that will rank and can compete with top Institutions and healthcare systems in the world. This is to ensure that we remain in the Country rather than traveling abroad to obtain these services. This will lead to waste of valuable foreign exchange that will have been conserved for other developmental needs.”

He added, “The need is here, the demand is here, the personnel are here. We have always trained people to provide quality healthcare. The State has trained doctors in the last 50 years but we took our eyes off the ball and allowed things to degenerate to where we are today.

“Our goal is to change the politics that brought us here. Some of the characters parading themselves as politicians, they have used their attitude to draw us back but we are waiting for them.”

This is a good one. I'm really very happy about the way Edo State Governor has prioritised building the State economy.
We need more of such Governors in Nigeria to revive our depleting economy.
