1. They more or less the same thing- Your visa application is to get a study permit that will allow you study in Canada.
2. Nigerians are required to provide six months statement, even though IRCC website requests for at least four months but the documents checklist used by VOs to process Nigerian applicants demands for six months statement.
3. No one can state how long it takes to get a visa, IRCC usually publishes estimated processing times.
4. Your statement is needed to confirm your POF, it is assumed that your POF should be ready, in your or your sponsor's . You have to show how then funds were raised with documentary proofs and explain any huge inflow into the (s)

Also, you need to go through the first page of this thread, to know more about what you need.
For your POF, you will need to show.
Your first year Tuition + Living expenses of $20,635+ flight costs and small change for miscellaneous.

There is absolutely nothing to be worried about previous denial. Declaring it doesn't affect fate of your Canada application except you committed a crime there which will be found out anyway whether you declared it or not. So best you declare it especially on that immigration form. Be silent about it in your SOP

Your POF in inclusion of the full funding /scholarship is very sufficient. Your personal balance shouldn't be a problem because of the presence of the scholarship and sponsor's funds.

Any lump sums in your sponsor's bank should be documentarily explained. Also, include your pay stubs for 4 - 6 months.

What is the level of the program and course?

Gather your documents that cover areas of finance, employment, home ties, etc. Check the thread for detailed documents others have submitted. Note that each applicant's situation is different and only select documents that relate to your situation best.

BTW, what is your course of study and program?


Things to watch out for:

• Avoid (unexplained) lump sum deposits, if possible;

• Pay the complete part of your tuition and have your living expenses in your ;

• ensure your has historical inflows that amount to an accumulated closing balance;

• Work on your home ties and if using a sponsor, prove a strong relationship to the individual and the individual should try as much as possible to show financial commitment;

• Demonstrate reliable financial means by providing relevant sufficient documents;

• Ensure your ing documents are legible and ed in the right column;

• Be sincere, and if there are any discrepancies in your personal information or situation, use the LOE to give clarity while using the SOP to elaborate on your study intent. If you feel like outsourcing your immigration letter(s), chat with GCMSWriters on IG/X;

• Declare any prior refusals, especially to the US, the UK, NZ, or Aussie;

You have to be a prior (Permanent) resident in any state in the USA to qualify for in-state tuition OR you were a permanent resident in one state and transferred your studentship to another state ..then you can qualify for the in-state tuition of that state .

IN SUMMARY.... In - state tuition is liken to NIGERIA STATE OF ORIGIN ...ie a Sokoto indigen applying to Uthman Dan Fodio University will pay lesser school fees than a student coming from Lagos.

Back to USA... A Nigerian does not have to be born in America to qualify for in-state tuition but he or she must have graduated from a US HIGH SCHOOL and lived in that state after graduation for like 1 to 2 years .

In -state tuition is a subsidized tuition ...you pay lesser fees than others . Out -of -state is a normal school fees for ALL AMERICANS who comes from different states .

International student like you without any form of scholarship might even pay more school fees than Out-of -state students . Therefore, IN AND OUT-OF STATE TUITION DOES NOT CONCERN AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT .

Can someone please explain this In-state and Out-of-state tuition thing. As an international student if I get ission to say University of Virginia and decide to live in Virginia, do I qualify for in-state tuition?

I ask because I noticed that the focus is on "State of Residence " and not origin.

While I have limited knowledge and information regarding this(as most schools I applied to do not have such prerequisite and it is not too common in MSc applications, except it is for research, if I am not mistaken), I think you have to go through the schools' website and then to the program(s) you're applying to and then look at the faculty and see the professors or teachers there whose areas of work you ire or align with yours.
You can subsequently send them email(using their school email address) that you're interested in their works(mention specific works you are interested) and tell them you're applying to their school and will like to mentored by them if you're accepted into the program.
NB: Include a brief background of yours, and you can let them know it is because of your interest in their area of work that you're applying to school. The subject of the email could something like, "Request to be mentored by you".

Some may response, others may ignore. Don't be discouraged by that.
