Why would the man be trying to endanger lives with his children in the car , What example is he teaching them? My son from JSS1 would not let me rest if I ever beat a traffic light not to talk of driving against traffic. The driver will live with the effects of his bad decisions all his life. Especially knowing we have a trigger-happy force , why would I not only commit the offence , disobey and assault the officers with my car ...that's a king rap sheet , the man is culpable and mind you , if he tries it with American police , he would likely be dead.

The police man and the rest of the team are only ionate about the potential victim to extort and not ionate about the work of traffic management. while it may have been expedient to stop the errant driver who was reckless ( he may have been a kidnapper), apparently someone in the Traffic organisation car acknowledged that the man had children but not clear if the policeman knew. .........its also within the rules of engagement to use utmost caution in the discharge of firearms, why not shoot into the air , especially with the strong ricochet of AK47 , he should have been more cautious. A single AK-47 bullet fired can kill 2 people in a straight line.

Ultimately, both sides will be punished ....but an innocent life had been untimely cut short. The boy is the only victim and his siblings who watched him die.
The father will live with the reality that his decisions killed his son and will have to explain his actions to his surviving kids till the end of his life.....
The policeman will face the music for the careless use of his weapon alone in a dingy cell; his superiors, whom he may be delivering proceeds to, will deny him. He will regret the murder of a child, and his career has ended due to his lack of discretion.

Got home 6am seeing so many breakdowns and accidents and just frustrated people ...the speed cameras also picking my no on the way ........These civil servants are from Hell!

Its crude and primitive to be "waylaying" or literarily "lying in wait" for engers at the airport in this manner , Most civilised countries use sniffer dogs scanners and technology to pick and politely stop engers for questioning. What is he looking for on the port that he cannot see on an electronic port scanning system. Most of the civilised world have stopped stamping ports physically .

Its unsettling ,annoying and frustrating to be stopped like this after 20 hours of flying. These officials are largely just looking for something to pin on the engers to collect bribes...that's all.

These Government people don't know that this is huge uselessness sentence on them. I see the TV antennas and the TVs at night and the squatters cooking, this has been there for years. How can they wake up and suddenly discover these people? Where were the government officials when they started building and have now turned it into a village of some sorts? This has been there since mid 2000s.

There is somebody in Government whose Job it is to ensure this does not happen, that person has not been queried or fired and they come to the media to shamelessly show their incompetence and lack of commonsense and lack of capacity to be shamed. IF you ask anyone of them why they are just discovering the shanty town, they will tell you it was before they assumed office or power. Government is a cult in Nigeria especially this Lagos state. If you drill down, you will find there is a reason behind this eviction and there is a big man or big people who are behind it.

While it is wrong to allow people live in such open and public spaces I think the government is scoring cheap points with the predicament of these people. I can also bet the poor victims will be looted in the name of enforcement.
