Radical ethnic Jingoists are at work here.... ...inciting one ethnic group against the other so there will be violence and anarchy... ...they should be tracked down and stopped How can anyone even entertain such thoughts that Igbos are on the verge of buying up Ibadan...and Like-minded bigots are agreeing with this narrative!! Could it be the Handiwork of Divide and rule politicians propping up their usual masterstroke? 7 Likes 1 Share |

ukukaegbu:Which part of Enugu, Owerri and Aba is developed, how many square meters? As for the Yorubas, selling(leasing) part of your land to foreigners for development and business purpose is not a crime but mind the areas you sell, you don't sell places that hold history values for generations to come. 1 Like |

I work in an estate company as the head of Sales and marketing and we had our meeting mostly on Wednesday with our marketers. One day we were having a meeting and one of the director asked a question and one of the marketers stood up, he was an Igbo guy and said - it is the Igbo that buy most of our land( the land we sell in our estate) and the director shut him and asked him how did he get the figure that it was Igbo that bought most of our lands, the guy couldn't talk. I began to shake my head because right there in my hands was the total numbers of our customers their names and address. By the way 99% of our customers were Yorubas not even rich Yorubas but low income earners, those in the markets and thereabouts and we have only few Igbos. And most Igbos on my list that bought lands from us are those in diaspora. I eventually showed the man the list, he was terribly shocked by the revelation and since you hardly see him in the meeting again.

The challenges that comes with it is that the cost of property will increase astronomically, and then criminals will flock down to this newly acquired areas. This is what happens when you sell your property to them.If you can buy back the property from them now please do or you regret in the near future. The Ebiras of Kogi state will never sell their land to them no matter what happens.

The person who made the post is a lunatic and those commenting to the lunacy also suffer from the same mental imbalance. Are they forcing them to sell? Did they sell under duress? If you're not comfortable with other ethnic groups buying up Yoruba lands then speak to your brethren not to sell again. Abi? Useless, lazy and insecure bunch of idiots. 6 Likes |

It is better for Igbos to buy your land with cash than for Fulani herdsmen to claim it with guns. Either ways, you will lose the land las las. Either to hunger or insecurity. At least, you got some monies to manage the hunger caused by the APC government. Losing it to insecurity would also mean losing your lives. It's a win-win situation for Oke Ado people and their clients.

Buying and selling of land is an individual transaction involving a willing seller and buyer. Not an ethnic thing. Are they evicting/sacking the owners from their lands like we hear in some places of the North? This is pure trade. I pity that man who had to stop such sale by buying the property he didn't need. He should be ready, lots of such deals going on steadily. What's all this paranoia for? How is this tribalistic blackmail different from xenophobic persecutions in South Africa? 3 Likes |

Yoruba peaceful nature is yielding fruits. Let them buy lands, they are welcome. As long as they have no ill intentions towards the indigenes, they are welcome to buy lands and build houses and businesses. They find ibadan to be peaceful and prosperous. Our peaceful nature is attracting other regions, donβt jinx it. If you are pained go to the east to buy land as well. As long as you have your money. 5 Likes |
