The growing trend common in people these days is, I don't go to church but I am a spiritual person. Some would say I do good and I love God but I don't belong to any church.

Is it possible to love God, do good and not be d to any denomination?

Religious experts, can a man claim to be a child of God without devotion?
you changed it from without church to without devotion, are they the same thing to you?

To answer your questions.

Yes it is possible to love God, do good and not be d to any denomination.

Besides we are one in the body of Christ.

Devotion and church is not what makes one a child of God, it is the children of God that make up the church and body of Christ and those who are devoted and obedient to God are the children of God, not devoted to any religious body or institution but being devoted to the word of God and obeying God.

Those who obey and love God belong to the church and body of Christ.

Someone cannot be a graduate without education.

Let's break it down. Being a moralist is different from being a child of God. You can be a moralist without being guided by religion. But to be a Child of God, you have to know God's principles through religious activities. Below are some of the clear differences.

A moralist will not condemn sex before marriage as long as the sex is consensual and involves only adults, especially if the parties have agreed to marry each other. A child of God will avoid premarital sex even with his fiancée or her fiance, he or she will wait until marriage.

A moralist will do good to fellow humans while lacking the concept of praying to and praising God. A child of God does good to humans and dedicates time to praises and prayers. And this is where worshiping in a congregation is compulsory.

A moralist will execution of criminals, a child of God will not.

A moralist will want gay people to be killed or excommunicated. A child of God will condemn the act of gay but will not harm gay people, he or she will keep hoping for gay people to repent.

A moralist will divorce if the marriage is not peaceful. A child of God will not divorce but will advise for living apart. Living apart is different from divorce.

A moralist will revenge if repeatedly offended, a child of God will keep forgiving.

That's not correct. One can be a "graduate" without going to school as you know it... Some " graduate " from trade or some other work. Graduation is done and by right such a person is a graduate.wink

Now ask yasef, na only Church God dey? If you think so, ah... I give up this discussion...

Me thinks it all depends on the God you're talking about.

Wetin suppose even concern a supposed almighty with mundane matters like church attendance?

That's petty IMHO

Yes I am a child of God, God created me and there was no ”church” in my creation. Churchy makes you a religion being while your relationship with God makes your spiritual existence.

so church is education and not the Holy spirit. "And Jesus said the church will teach you"? I understand if you say the church is where people learn from those who speak from the Holy Spirit but it's not limited to the four walls is it

Maybe I should help the OP rephrase the question.

Can a person be Born Again, serving God, giving, witnessing, studying the Word, and not feel obligated to attend a particular Church?

This is my own version of the same question, and I'll really love reactions to this.

Isaac Newton is one of the greatest scientists the world has produced. He didn't go to any school to learn science.

Church is just a centre, where a con man who calls himself a pastor awaits you to extract money from your pocket in order to finance his fake, extravagant lifestyle.
KaLuCh: 9:28am On Jun 01
Of course! Jesus didn't even care about people's religious affiliations. He preached kingdom, not church. And that is not to take away from local assembling of believers. The church is very important. But the kingdom of God is much bigger than a religion, or a building, or a sect, or any set of rules. The kingdom permeates all of these mostly human constructs. The church of Christ, the Lord's bride is far larger than the Christian family, or what we know as 'church'.

Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc, we have millions and millions of individuals in these traditions who have come to accept Jesus as God's son, and every single one of them will be in heaven. Man, I have heard stories of individuals like this who are descipling hundreds of other people in the ways of Christ.

God is not as shortsighted as we are, He is not fighting and leading segregations against religious groups that share different views. His focus is people, not groups, and He is reaching them personally everywhere. I see a lot of myopic Christian views about heaven but we'll all be shocked when we get there and find that God is not as limited as we think.

I'll close with these words of the Lord in John 10:16; "And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd."

Not completely true. Islam is a religion but the adherents believe in waiting for a dinner to repent.

God himself will need to tell us what he really needs since all religions don't agree in many aspects.

Personally, I'm not a child of God and couldn't careless about God.

Religious experts, can a man claim to be a child of God without devotion?

you are asking two different questions:

1. can a man claim to be a child of God without devotion?

2. Can A Man Be A Child Of God Without A Church?

which of them are you asking?

maybe the question you first need to ask yourself is "who is a child of God"?

if you can answer that, then you dont need to be asking these questions.

We only have business centres, theatre art centres and places that produce what you want to see!

Your concept of God is based on Christian dogma, not reality.

Did your ancestors not know God before English invaders arrived a century ago?

The God of Creation your ancestors knew, did not issue ‘commandments’ or tell people not to commit adultery, or demand to be worshipped, or feel “jealous”. Neither did he threaten eternal damnation or hellfire on anyone.

So why is the invaders’ rendition of a “God” with human qualities of anger, bloodlust, jealousy and vengeance, more accurate than the ‘aloof’ God of African spirituality?

I mean, just because the invaders came with guns and bombs doesn’t make them right, does it?

lol but there are churches that don't collect tithe where you can relate and love one another, you miss out on such relationships except you have believers who are close friends and you gist and encourage one another
