Many people are already showing symptoms of madness including myself, is just that we have not gone to the street. That is why anger management is important. Loving others like yourself is important. being kind to yourself is important. Not taking things too serious is important. Being close to God is good. Having time to relax and unwind is good. ![]() Anyone can become mad. Just live a good decent life. Don't hold on to grudges, and enjoy life. ![]() 3 Likes 2 Shares |

There is nothing called Madness. Its known medically as mental illness and it is 100% treatable and is more common that you think WORLDWIDE where at least 2% of ANY population suffer depression at any one point but in Nigeria we term a common illness as madness due to our superstitious beliefs, ignorance and being ashamed of associating with the weak. And because we don't have free healthcare to step in the gap and save the ill from the ignorance of their own family , the mentally ill in Nigeria will be roaming the street in their unwell state until their clothes get torn to shreds and people will start mocking them as mad whereas in civilized countries, once a family member senses that their relative is showing signs of mental illness, they will call the free government ambulance and the person will be taken to a psychiatric hospital to be treated at full Government expense and only discharged when they are well just like in the case of former British heavy weight boxer Frank Bruno who has suffered nervous breakdowns multiple times and he was treated successfully and nobody in the UK called or labelled him mad 'cos their societies know that mental illness is a very common occurrence but we in Nigeria treat it in hushed tones and label people who are ill as mad because of our backwardness (and this includes so called educated illiterates). |

List of world leaders who once had mental health issues - culled from ChatGpt Many world leaders have faced mental health challenges at some point in their lives, and these struggles are often overlooked or downplayed due to the stigma around mental health, especially in political and leadership contexts. Here are some notable world leaders who are known to have experienced mental health issues: 1. Abraham Lincoln (16th U.S. President) Mental Health Struggles: Lincoln is often considered one of the most profound examples of a leader struggling with depression. Historical s suggest that Lincoln suffered from deep bouts of melancholia (depression), especially during difficult periods of his life, such as the deaths of loved ones and the Civil War. 2. Winston Churchill (Prime Minister of the UK) Mental Health Struggles: Churchill is famously known for his struggle with what he called his "black dog," a term he used to describe his depressive episodes. Despite these struggles, he led Britain through World War II, demonstrating remarkable resilience. 3. Theodore Roosevelt (26th U.S. President) Mental Health Struggles: Roosevelt faced significant mental health challenges following the death of his mother and wife on the same day in 1884. He retreated to the Badlands, where he found solace in nature, and later described this period as one of his darkest times, indicating emotional trauma and despair. 4. John F. Kennedy (35th U.S. President) Mental Health Struggles: JFK suffered from chronic back pain, which led to bouts of depression and fatigue. He was also known to have struggled with anxiety and various physical health issues, possibly exacerbated by his stressful presidency and health challenges. 5. Franklin D. Roosevelt (32nd U.S. President) Mental Health Struggles: FDR faced significant challenges, including a diagnosis of polio that left him paralyzed from the waist down. While it isn't always classified as a mental health issue, the psychological impact of his physical disability on his leadership style and decision-making has been widely discussed. 6. Charles de Gaulle (President of ) Mental Health Struggles: De Gaulle had a history of suffering from bouts of depression, particularly after his resignation in 1969. His mental health issues were compounded by personal and political tensions during the Algerian War of Independence and other crises. 7. Queen Victoria (Queen of the United Kingdom) Mental Health Struggles: Queen Victoria suffered from prolonged periods of deep grief after the death of her beloved husband, Prince Albert, in 1861. This led to what many historians consider depressive episodes, marked by her retreat from public life and her emotional distress. 8. Adolf Hitler (Führer of Nazi ) Mental Health Struggles: There is evidence suggesting that Adolf Hitler suffered from mental health issues, including possible depression, paranoia, and psychosis, especially later in his life. His erratic behavior and poor decision-making, particularly during the later years of World War II, suggest significant psychological instability. 9. Abdulaziz Ibn Saud (King of Saudi Arabia) Mental Health Struggles: Historical s suggest that King Abdulaziz suffered from bouts of anxiety and depression during his reign, especially in the later years when his health deteriorated, and he had to manage complex political relationships. 10. Sylvia Pankhurst (British Suffragette and Political Leader) Mental Health Struggles: Though not a head of state, Sylvia Pankhurst, a prominent British suffragette and political leader, is another example of someone who dealt with mental health challenges. She suffered from depression, particularly during the turbulent periods of her political activism. 11. Richard Nixon (37th U.S. President) Mental Health Struggles: Nixon's paranoia and erratic behavior during the Watergate scandal have often been associated with mental health issues. Reports and historians suggest that Nixon may have struggled with anxiety and depression, which were exacerbated by the pressures of his presidency and the Watergate scandal. 12. Boris Yeltsin (First President of Russia) Mental Health Struggles: Yeltsin, the first president of post-Soviet Russia, was known to have struggled with alcoholism, which contributed to mental health challenges. His alcohol dependence and subsequent periods of erratic behavior raised concerns about his mental stability, particularly during his presidency. 13. King George III (King of Great Britain) Mental Health Struggles: King George III is often cited as an example of a leader who suffered from mental health issues, which some historians believe may have been a form of bipolar disorder or porphyria, a rare genetic condition. His mental health deteriorated to the point where he was incapacitated and his son was appointed regent. 14. Vincent van Gogh (Dutch Painter, known for his political activism as well) Mental Health Struggles: While not a world leader in the traditional sense, Vincent van Gogh, who engaged in significant political activism, is known for his struggles with mental health, including psychotic episodes and severe depression, which ultimately led to his tragic death. His mental health struggles have often been discussed in of his emotional and psychological vulnerability. 15. Eleanor Roosevelt (Former First Lady of the U.S.) Mental Health Struggles: While not an elected head of state, Eleanor Roosevelt played a critical role in global politics. She dealt with significant emotional struggles, particularly with low self-esteem and depression, exacerbated by a difficult marriage to Franklin D. Roosevelt and the political pressures she faced. These figures demonstrate that mental health issues can affect people at the highest levels of power and leadership. Interestingly, many of these leaders managed to fulfill their duties despite their struggles, highlighting both the resilience and the vulnerabilities that come with such positions of influence. 1 Like 1 Share |

Fair! One of the maxims of equity starts that he who seek equity must come with clear hands. Those are kind of information you want to disclose to your partner before getting married.

Kobojunkie:Thank You. It is pertinent to know so as to be prepared for anything like reoccurrence. If the illness springs up without prior knowledge she could be left very very confused. If she knew, she can even be orientated on even recognizing early patterns if there's an incident of reoccurrence. And of course raising children |

Good day to my fellow nairalanders.I had to put this write up here after serious persuasion and consideration from a colleague of mine who's close to this womanwho has found herself in a serious distress. She had high hopes for the future and to give her two children a good future, only for her husband who went in search of a job 6 months ago,to suddenly abscond and leave her in a very big mess.Ever since he left they have accumulated so much debt from feeeding and other miscelleneous expenses,as she doesn't have any source of income, due to the fact she just relocated from the village down to the city. Her children have been pursued from school,as a result of over due school fees and now to make matters worse they have been given quit notice by the landlord of the house they are staying. She's so confused and don't know what to do right now.I am kindly seeking for the help of my fellow Nairalanders to find a place in there heart to assist her financially even if its money for her to start a small scale business,so she can feed her kids and also return them back to school. please for those who might want to assist her she can be ed on 07037861527 God bless you all |
