A friend of mine on band A said he was given 30 units for 5,000.

Whether they tap or not, the total consumption is captured from the meter attached to the transformer and circulated to people paying estimated billing.

I think they're cheating us here in ogun state. If we recharge 5k, they remove as much as 3k and give us like 40 units, even though we pay like 20k regularly before getting the metre

100 Units. Band C. I'm actually placed on C instead of D. I have complained. By month end, I should by 160 units for 5k

Okay I decided to recharge 1k and I got 20 units. Tariff is 46 per unit aside VAT: 930 for 20 is equal to N46 per kWh.

There is one thing I have noticed with Nigerians home and abroad. The literate ones pick a piece of information, distort it and it to the illiterate and misinformation continues. Mind you, there are many people on this forum that can read and write but unfortunately are still illiterate.

This is what someone posted on Facebook

The Nigerian government is asking its citizens to pay more for the electricity they barely consume. This is already a stale news but what's shocking is that the people don't seem to be bothered about it. No major protest on the streets ; it's all calm and quiet, or the usual Nigerian suffering and smiling copying mechanism.

Access to constant electricity supply is one of Nigeria's never-ending problems. It becomes really worrisome when you realise that in this country we pay for what we barely use. From time to time , the national grid collapses and the whole nation is plunged into darkness but you still have to pay for that darkness. Isn't that amazing??

To remain sane in Nigeria, you have to have a rock solid plan. It's like devising a safe lodgement for your feet when you are walking on a dangerous path. For me , buying a solar inverter was the way out of this mess. I bought a 1.5 KV inverter last year when it cost around 600k and ever since then I have been living 95% off-grid. I still have to pay my NEPA bills as a monthly routine but owning a solar inverter has really helped me and my family to live more comfortably.

At this time when Nigeria's energy crisis is at its all time worst, it's easy to imagine what millions of people go through everyday. I may someday leave this country never to return back but I will always how God's favour spoke for me in that sick country.

And here is our respond
We understand the challenges faced with Nigeria's energy crisis, and we're proud to have helped you achieve a more comfortable and sustainable living with our 1.5KVA solar inverter installation. At The Trills Consulting, we believe in providing solutions that make a real difference in people's lives. If anyone else is interested in finding a way out of the energy mess, feel free to reach out to us for expert advice and installations. Let's light up Nigeria, one solar at a time!

This system was installed last year June and 3 days ago he made the Facebook post. This could be you. Check my Thread on Solar Inverter Installation to know more.

oluwaseyi0: 1:06pm On Apr 08, 2024
300% on band A is high

They should have done

150% on A, 75% on B, 50 on C and 25 on D rather than all the increase on A

Though most band A are elite citizen they mostly can afford it so far there is light

The hyke is unacceptable because I can't just imagine how Nigerians will pay 225 per kWh if electricity improves tomorrow.

So any area that start having 24hr current will start paying 225 naira per kWh, who does that.
