I have heard people saying multiple times that Russia is weak and they are struggling against Ukraine, during the recent encounter between President Trump and President Zelensky, the latter insinuated that the US would feel the Russian influence in the future.

I'm not certain President Z knows how diplomacy works, you don't argue in front of the media and make statements that threatens ( or try to cause panic) the peace of your strongest ally. Was the outburst from president Z justifiable ? Yes and No

It looks like President Trump was trying to impose the deal by all means. Europe security guarantees

Back to the issue of the media claiming Russia is weak, at the moment it's impossible to discuss Europe security architecture without the transatlantic alliance ( even though it hasn't been tasted and I hope it stays that way) without including the US. I believe it would be unmistakenly sacrilegious to discuss Europe's safety without adding the US in the same sentence.

As it's obvious in Ukraine, if all of Europe can't guarantee the security of Ukraine against the so called weak Russia, then I think some people are trying so hard to downplay the might of the Russians, even president Z said, the Americans would feel the Russian influence ( perhaps someone can translate what kind of influence) in the future.

In fewer words, president Trump laid the truth bare right in front of President Z, he has no bargaining chip and the Russians hold all the cards. Honestly, I don't think the Russians have any reasons to want to negotiate. For president Trump to talk President Putin into negotiations should not be taken slightly, no one took this initiative for almost three years. If he can resolve this with Ukraine coming out okay, then he deserves a nobel peace prize ( Obama got one for doing so little lol ).
