Depends on what you want. You can try lloyds bank straight forward to open for students. Have your brp, a letter from school, uk home address and you're good to go.

If you want to travel to Cotonou, I will advise you not to use flight, You can go via Lagos / badagry route to benin republic, just make sure your port is stamped at the border.

Google that you may come across some that offers one or two deal for students

We are much closer to cotonou than Ghana. I would advice you choose cotonou.
