Mike Ozekhome, senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), says Nigeria is “gradually driving towards a one-party state” and dictatorship.

Recently, there have been waves of politicians defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The latest defection was that of Uno Emo, governor of Akwa Ibom, who ed APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ozekhome described the gale of defections as “bootlicking at its highest level”.

He warned that Nigeria is moving towards one-party state and, by extension, dictatorship.

“People are falling over themselves to endorse the president, who has not been allowed to do his job over two years,” the SAN said.

It is only in Nigeria those who lost elections insist they must serve in the winner's government.

Did Ozekhome not serve as counsel to one of those who had petitions against Tinubu? After fighting against his elections, he should now insert them to do further damage?

That was how Osita Chidoka then in PDP was advising APC to choose a national chairman from the southeast. That was unfair to the northwest, southwest, southsouth and northcentral where Tinubu won at least a state. Even core APC southeast did not feel as entitled as Osita.

Anyway, Wike was not Tinubu's man. Bayo Ojulari was not Tinubu's man. Mele Kyari was not Tinubu's man. We can list several ministers who got there on merit. Tunji Alausa, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, Badaru, Ibrahim Geidam, Christopher Musa, etc. Is Ozekhome unhappy that Lateef Fagbemi SAN is attorney-general? So the job should be given to someone who did bot accept Tinubu defeated their paymasters?

As for the talk that Tinubu is driving Nigeria to a one party state, it is not possible. APC does not even have 28 state governors as PDP had at some point. At that time, PDP did not turn Nigeria to a one-party state. PDP is crying because they plundered their chances due to individual greed and poor management. Even now, the party is at the mercy of Atiku's unwavering greed for power and Wike's quest to balance the scales. Until both Atiku and Wike leave PDP, PDP would never find peace.

The truth is that Nigeria can never be the same after tinubu's government. Tinubu is a treat to our hard earned peacefully co-existence and unity.

Tilumbu has caused an association of strange bed fellows that would definitely implode after his 8 year tenure.

He has used to carrot and stick method to whip politicians into formation and because most politicians are after their financial gains, its easy to achieve

He would most likely win 2027 because he has annexed every institution that can checkmate is reign. So much for democracy

Where's the lie?

The amusing thing is, Tinubu isn't actually putting them based on tribal affiliations, he's putting only his boys, who mostly happens to be from his Yoruba ethnic group, into these positions.
The rest of his tribesmen, and other Nigerians, no dey his agenda at all

True talk.
Buhari started it but Tinubu took it to another level.

It's a bad ideology APC adopted and it's not working for them both in Security and the Economy.

Loyalty over competence, when he lost lagos state he claimed to govern well ,was the moment I knew he has nothing to offer Nigeria except politics he has been playing since 2007 he left office, all tinubu can offer is Cavendish politics and nothing else....he came prepared for politics but certainly not governance....but he still have ers who don't see that he's ruining our country. ..he promised that removing subsidy will reduce borrowing but after removing subsidy borrowing has more than tripled, and the money from subsidy removal vanished...

Freedom fighter of yesteryears usually become dictator if given power. The likes of Gadaffi, Mugabe, Gbagbo, Outtara once behaved like freedom fighter until they become demi-gods, we never see anything until wen his second term is about to end, so many people will die and maim in other for despot to sit tight in power.

Nigeria will be great. Nigeria is already great because Nigerians are resilient, hardworking and industrious people. Tinubu is laying a solid foundation for growth and irreversible development. His case study is Lagos. Let those who want to compete show workings. Some are insisting they could do better of they had the chance. But they refuse to talk about what they did well when they had the chance.

Nigeria is on the path to irreversible growth. No one can stop it; not even Tinubu himself.
