Will president Tinubu declare state of emergency in his home state?

Maybe if his crooked protégé is impeached again by the state legislature.

chisomkachy:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.

Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three s in Standard Chartered Bank.

The s are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.

The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the s.

Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s s following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.

The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.

But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the s in his chamber.

During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).

The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the s was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.

Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.

Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the s stated in the following schedule:

“ NAME, FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, TYPE OF , 1. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered, (US Dollars) 0001852063 2. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Current) 0001852056 3. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Saving) 5002309624.

“Issued at Lagos, under the seal of this Honourable Court and by the hands of the Presiding Judge this 16th day of August 2023.”

All these epistles about politicians?
We saw longer epistles about Fubara, how is it now?
Very soon, Sanwo-Olu just like Ambode will become the poster boy of greatness for a particular section of people.

This writer got most of his write up wrong by saying Obasanjo during his time never humiliate Asiwaju during their counter...what kind of humiliation can you compare with the one Obasanjo did to Asiwaju by not paying Lagos State allocation for more than 3years. I'm surprise that someone of your calibre can referred to that as no humiliation.

Another area where your write up is biased is the area where you re trying to paint Asiwaju reaction towards the governor different colors without hearing from the president corner to know whether Mr governor deserve it not.
One thing in politics...is that if you cannot pay back loyalty in full and even more to your political-god father, is better you drop it...this is Africa where political godfathers are expecting their political godsons to represent them in full even in their absent...

All these things you put here as your write ups are very easy for you because you were not in either Mr president or Mr governor's shoes on this case...you may not know the gravity and weight of their relationships....talk is cheap!

Advisedly, I will want Sam-Olu not to engage in a public outburst with the president because whether or not Tinubu is a president him Sam-Olu can't fight him that aside Tinubu is a love kinded man that observe people's loyalty to him with kin interest once he understands a crack he will manage you until he muscle you out and that is what I am seeing! Nevertheless, the issue that as a politician you should try to manage your anger and bitterness towards your presume undertaker I am not a fan of hypocrisy. Just like Wike snub Fubura I will snub Sam-Olu if I am Tinubu and finds out he is disloyal to me. We are not playing hide and sick game this is politics where once you give your enemy a chance he will decapitated you politically.

It’s all about GAME of FAME in Lagos and Tinubu doesn’t want anyone to sit at the table playing with him.
Wait!!!
There must be something happening that we don’t understand, why is every governor installed by Tinubu eventually turn back from him? Is it that Tinubu’s yoke always become unbearable for them at some point and they have no choice than turning back at him.

Yorubas are labelling all their contemporary technocrats like Fashola, Ambode, Osinbajo, Aregbe, Sanwo-olu etc. "betrayers" in favour of an Octogenarian who is fast reaching the end of his shelf-life politically. Pathetic! Kwankwaso contested against Buhari and even decamped multiple times but he still remains regarded as a leader in the North even by Buhari himself. Elrufai went against Buhari to fight the naira crunch and Tinubu against all odds but Buhari is still cool with him. Rather, it's the Yorubas that are now terming him a betrayer. What an irony!

Tinubu is not who the Southwest should be putting all their hopes on. He needs a successor and that need not be Seyi. Lagos state is not a dynasty. Other people have ruled Lagos and bowed out gracefully long before Tinubu but twenty years and counting, he has refused to let go. So dark the con of man!
Point of correction. Not all yorubas. Is osun not a yoruba state, why did tinubu lose there? Is lagos not a yoruba state? Why did he also lose, despite claiming he made lagos? Don't forget, lagos has the largest LGA by yoruba population in the south west. Same LGA is the largest by population in nigeria. Yet, tinubu lost here.

Those following tinubu are tribalists and super illiterate people. They believe in the yes sir type of politics and leadership, even if the leader is slitting their throats open, they don't care. Those technocratic beings you mentioned will be the future of yorubas, Mark it. Yorubas will soon beg them. Aregbe is another super man. Anyone who falls out with tinubu is seen as an omo ale by these illiterates.

Tinubu doesn't carry weight in Lagos and yoruba land as many may have though. He uses money and intimidation to do everything. Are you aware he rigged ogun election in 2023 in favour of dapo abiodun? Who will question him, except God? A few days after the 2023 general elections, I visited ekiti to see mama. There was massive protest at Adebayo area in ado ekiti. They said they didn't vote tinubu, how come they're declaring him winner in ekiti? Some people said they received 3k each at the polling booth to vote him. Some voted after collecting the money while some didn't.

Had fashola been allowed to contest, trust me, na easy win nationwide, likewise osinbajo or ambode. Many of those following tinubu will soon realise how long he had fooled them and led them astray. Like i said earlier today, his empire is nearing it's end in Lagos. 2027 will draw the clear lines. They feel the lines weren't so clear with the 2023 elections here but this time, it will be so clear.

My bad. Aregbesola is not a technocrat. He's an ordinary AC repairer that Tinubu discovered from the gutters in Alimosho and made a Governor.
I mean, that's what you Southwesterners describe him as to the rest of us. Thankfully, some of us Aregbe for some of his innovative ideas like the Urban renewal of Osogbo, his giant strides in education and as the pioneer of the homegrown school feeding programme that even the Federal government had to eventually borrow a leaf from. A prophet is not respected in his own home.

Right from the days of Baba Adedibu, you yorubas have always celebrated and revered this culture of godfatherism. Anyone who tries to breakaway from the suffocation and stand their own ground is quickly termed a betrayer, no matter how good his legacy. Is that the culture you want to bequeath to the generation?

Please go back and use a dictionary to find out what the word "technocrat" means.

The rest of your writeup is ok and meaningful however the part in bold is a truth, and many of us were witnesses to it so it cannot be reinvented all because he became a governor and minister.

Aregbe's downfall in respect in Yorubaland is because he showed little respect and gratitude to his elders no matter if he is disagreeing with them. Are Fashola or Fayemi on good with Tinubu, are other Yorubas insulting them daily?

A "technocrat" that sings songs in the open about an old man who happened to be his benefactor pissing himself, it is so un-Yorubalike that it disgusts me anytime I think about it...a man of over 60 showing Gen Z behaviour, na real wa ooo.

Wahala dey o
There's this panegyrics for Esu in Yoruba mythology which goes that while his worshippers are giving him palm oil to appease him, unknown to them Esu can only be appeased with blood
Sanwo is simply another in a long line of those who were installed by the system only to be wrecked by it.

The real issue which I'm always surprised even the Lagos press are comfortable with is the fact that there's no democracy in Lagos. What you have is a one man show or an oligarchy at best which some zombies think they are a part of whereas they are just a bunch of noise makers who don't have any say in the governance process. Watch them. The same Sanwo they have praised for the rail lines will soon become Judas who should be guillotined and incinerated in the coming days.

As for anyone being able to pacify Tinubu once his mind is set on something, Sanwo should perish that thought. Ambode begged all the perceived confidants in 2018. What did Tinubu do? He told them he's not the one rejecting Ambode. It is GAC. Meanwhile, the deluded zombies who bought that lie can see from how the Obasa saga happened that there's no GAC anywhere. GAC is simply a smokescreen for Tinubu to hide behind when it's convenient for him. There's only one man who is alpha and omega in Lagos. And his words and decisions are final on all issues.
you are very right I have never seen a dumb follower like the the followers of Tinubu, they behave like zombie as if they are less human being made by God to serve and worship another human being
You observations about them is right, they are likely to treat the man the way they treated ambode, whenever the signal is given

Obj did not withhold state allocations. What was withheld were LG allocations. Tinubu unconstitutionally created 37 new LGAs and wanted allocations for them.
Obj held all LG funds so Tinubu will not share what’s meant for 20 LGs among 57.

They're actually destroying Yoruba heritage and culture because of Tinubu. Even oro became political oro, Afenifere was factionalized because of Tinubu.

The irony is that Tinubu ancestry has been traced to Borno
Godfullsam:

How is Aregbesola a technocrat?

Wait a minute, what is your definition of technocrat?

If this article is enough to convince you that all yorubas are queueing behind tinubu as their number one leader, it means your knowledge of the Yoruba people is very little and shallow.

1. If the bold is your criteria/reasons for calling Aregbesola a technocrat, you need to school.

2. I still maintain that, your knowledge of the yorubas is very low and shallow if you think all of us see tinubu as our supreme leader.

The governor fell out of favor becos:
a. He bankrolled the removal of the speaker
b. He lost the presidential election to Obidients.

So, its clear, the governor is not expected to have any real authority or electoral assertiveness.
He is supposed to be a figurehead. If he cannot remove a speaker, he cannot win elections.
He is called to be a mere zombie

It is also pertinent to ask this question: Will any governor in Lagos successfully complete their tenure without having issues with President Tinubu? Fashola was almost denied a second term; Akinwunmi Ambode was denied. Now Sanwo-Olu who got a second term without a struggle is on the verge of being removed at the latter stage of his second term. Who can please Mr. President?

The one million dollar question
