Actually what strikes me is that these are very friendly and non-racist people. See how happy and relaxed the guy is? He wouldn't be like that in US/UK. Cleanliness and infrastructure are NOT everything. I wouldn't mind living here. And he doesn't seem worried about crime at all. Lagos, you'd be worried about crime as a foreigner
India, racist and friendly shouldn't be in one sentence. Do your research.

Lagos too would have been in that league but for influx of illegal migrants and economic refugees who have no business being in the State.

^^^
grin

Lagos' problems will not be solved without some good old fashioned honesty. Blaming the 'other' for all the city's problems will not lead anyone anywhere.

There are Lagos indigenes who litter. There are Lagos indigenes who practice open defecation. There are Lagos indigenes who pollute their environment in various ways. There are Lagos indigenes who drive recklessly and dangerously. And so on.

Lagos has no immunity from the stuff that plagues the rest of Nigeria.

The slow thinking leaders in Yorubaland are busy playing 'oju aiye' politics and politics of correctness till the entire South West region will turn to slum and Nigeria's waste site.

I lived in india for 7 years. Light is stable except for 45mins every Thursday in some cities, Good roads, cheap food.
You can walk into any mall as someone earning below average and get yourself clothes or sneakers from branded stores. Good healthcare.
What else do you want?

I just feel the OP is biased, though some areas are dirty but india is a much more better place to live in than Nigeria (talking from experience)

What’s the point of these developments when your US and Canada embassies in Delhi are filled with people wanting to flee? And the dilapidated infrastructure?

Where is all the money from the corporate taxes these big companies are paying?

It’s obvious the fruits of these advancements you listed are only circulating among the elite without impacting wider society.

There’s been a reduction of poverty for many millions of people there over the last decade or two, but the infrastructure is not really matching up to that.

Factually incorrect.
India's GINI index has fallen in concert with its rising economy. Meaning income inequality has DECREASED with the increasing GDP. This alone is a sufficient proof that Indian growth has benefitted the Indian poor.

But let us look at more hard data:-
Figure ; 2014 ; 2025
Percentage of Indian households with tap water connection (including rural houses) ; 16% ; 80.7%
Annual air conditioner sales ; 3 million ; 14 million
Annual car sales ; 25 million ; 43 million
Number of Indians with a bank ; 35% (2011) ; 80% (2018)
LPG connections (for cooking) ; 145 Million ; 328 Million
Electricity consumption per capita ; 975 kWh ; 1400 kWh

In the past 10 years, household toilets, paved roads and electricity reached every last village in India. The financial inclusion and microfinance revolution of the past 10 years in India is a world renown story, India made history with it. Try to read up. Overall, Indian economic growth has affected even poor and lower middle class people.

Now coming to infrastructure: are you kidding me bruh? You have to live under a rock to say that infrastructure has not grown in India. In reality, India is currently on a massive multi Trillions of dollars spending spree in a massive infrastructure push that is along the largest and fastest infrastructure growths in human history. Numbers:-

Qty; 2014 ; 2024
Airports ; 74 ; 158
Cargo handled at ports ; 555 Million Tons ; 855 Million Tons
Average turn around time for ships to load/unload at Indian ports ; 94 hours; 48 hours
National Highways length ; 91,000 km ; 145,000 km
Rural roads; 381,000 km ; 755,000 km
Cities with Metro trains (subway) ; 5 ; 21 cities
Length of Metro train network ; 248 km ; 919 km
Railways electrification (electric trains instead of diesel) ; 37% (22,000 km) ; 99% (66,000 km)
Free pucca rural houses for the poor ; 0 ; 27 Million houses
Heavily subsidized pucca houses for urban poor ; 840,000 ; 6 Million houses
And these houses are only given to women or couples.

The infrastructure build up in India is staggering. Number of seats for MBBS and PG degrees for doctors has more than doubled.

I could go on and on. Point is, every facet of life of every Indian, from a lowly manual scavenger to an upper middle class man, has transformed and is transforming due to the current economic boom in India. Try to read up more before forming opinions.

They are a billion people in that country, so of course they will be doing more stuff in industry even if they are a developing country.

Same way Nigeria has bigger companies and industries with advanced technology than Liberia or Sierra Leone or Ghana.
Its not always that simple or straightforward. Our size is not the reason why we research and produce Nuclear Medicine or Nuclear fuel pellets or Fourth generation nuclear reactors or produce aerospace grade titanium alloy parts right from titanium ore to the final product, all done in India.
Population helps, but that alone is insufficient.

Just watch this presentation by the current chief of India's Defence R & D Organization to understand what I am talking about (watch from 30:00 onwards where he explains about the challenges faced by India even now when it is trying to expand its Titanium alloy production from raw material stage):-

Why are you Yoruba guys not bold enough to seek for a peaceful division of Nigeria so that Yorubas can have a fully independent Yoruba nation where Yorubas can fully decide how they want their city to be without migrants?

Because under national and international law you have no right or legal backing to call your fellow countrymen migrants, every Nigerian have the full right to move freely within Nigeria and live freely in any part of Nigeria he or she likes so long as he or she is law abiding and not committing crime, and if he or she commits crime as a Nigerian citizen, it is the responsibility of the security aka Nigerian Police to arrest and prosecute him but you cannot deport someone in his own country. Yorubas please stop using such words, it's hate speech and punishable under both national and international law. Your countrymen can never be called migrants. Migrants are people from outside your country. Are you guys not informed or what?

So to achieve this una Yoruba egbe patriotism, you Yorubas need to be brave enough to start full agitation for an independent Yoruba nation because you cannot be in the same nation with other tribes where you use politics of gangup and corruption to be collecting their resources and be developing your region while using politics to sideline their region and still turnaround to tell them not to come to your region, that is a call for anarchy and possible crises and even war.

Best thing is for Yorubas to Igbos and ask for a peaceful division of Nigeria so Yorubas can have Yoruba region to themselves alone and do as they like with it, it's that simple, anything less is a call for crises and full anarchy. But if you guys seek for your own Yoruba nation, you then have the full legal backing to issue visa to people that meets your visa rules and deport any none Yoruba nation person that violates your Yoruba nation's law
Very simple. I will be the number er of Oduduwa nation.

90% of Indians live in poverty, that's over a billion people. That's more people than sub Sahara region of Africa which UN and WHO claims to be the world poorest regions. The GDP, net profit, gross profit of India poorest people is less than sub Sahara region. The country is filled with unhealthy outdated practices.

Botswana, Namibia and South Africa are better places to live because they have a White European population living there. India is more of an object lesson for Nigeria because it's successes are majorly due to the indigenous population AND also because it shares a similar colonial history. Negroes with the highest HDI and wealth in the world live in White or Caucasian dominated or controlled countries. A comparison of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Nigeria makes that abundantly clear.

There's no country controlled or dominated by Negroes that has high HDI without having a substantive population of European Whites citizens....it never can happen. It's not an accident that Nigeria, a country with the highest concentration or population of Negroes in the world, is also the Poverty Capital of the World.

Aesthetics isn’t everything. That country you see has a population of more than 1 billion people but has less people living on below $2 a day than us with a population of 200 million.

That country produces a wide range of things from arms to cars. Their cities are dirty but not everything is about fine cities. There are also beautiful places.

Nigeria manufactures vehicles including cars, SUVs, buses, trucks, fire trucks, and even armoured personnel carriers which it exports to other countries.

There are 58 vehicle plants in Nigeria according to an official list I just saw.

In fact INNOSON just opened a giant plant to manufacture heavy duty vehicles like cranes and excavators.

You are only good at knowing developments in foreign countries while you know next to nothing about your own nation.

As for your mythical Indian prosperity claims vis-a-vis Nigeria, here's the truth from the horse's mouth:

''About 60% of India’s 1.3 billion people living on less than $3.10 a day, the World Bank’s median poverty line, and 21%, and more than 250 million people survive on less than $2 a day.''

Less than 3% of Botswana's population is white (70,000 people), and they have absolutely no power or domination in Botswana that exceeds their minority status.

The reason for Botswana's prosperity and near zero corruption has zero to do with any white people being there.

They have a unique system of government which gives the grassroots a very strong voice via the House of Chiefs, which is an equal branch of govt in addition to their senate and house of reps, etc.

It is precisely because they have not completely turned oyinbo worshippers like you, programmed to look down on everything black or African, but have instead stuck to and respected their pre-colonial istrative systems, that they remain Africa's beacon of success and development.

So Botswana has high HDI as do other black countries like Gabon, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica, Barbados, Suriname, St Lucia, Grenada, St Vincent & the Grenadines, the Bahamas, Antigua & Barbuda, Namibia (which is also black-run, contrary to the manure you typed about them), while many other black countries are steadily climbing the ladder.

See, most of you who carry this anti-black racial complex in your heads don't actually know anything about black countries.

All you know is the propaganda fed you on CNN, where black means poverty and violence.

When you wake up, take a trip to some of these black countries and see how organised they are.
