I honestly don't understand how USA lost to Afghanistan because they successfully overthrew the Taliban government after 9/11 in weeks, hunted down and killed Osama bin laden eventually and maintained presence there which in long term was of no use because they had achieved their aim and were facing guerilla warfare from the then incumbent Taliban government, so how did they lose after they withdrew? Or should they have sent a permanent large army force to occupy Afghanistan?? The world could have seen them as an occupying power just as they see Israel as an occupying force in Gaza.

Anyways I presume no matter how the war went, Americans would still ll be seen as losers.

USSR was able to defeat simply because German forces were overstretched from fighting on too many fronts with formidable Allied Forces.

The number one condition was to disarm all the nuclear weapons belonging to former ISSR from the new States emerging.. Ukraine was one of them. Russia promised to guarantee their freedom and sovereignty and defend against Western aggression..at time, the energy was NATO.
So despite the agreement Between them, several former USSR states prodded by US ed NATO, Russia watched and complained. The world said nothing. The world did nothing.
