Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Delta State, Elder GodsDay Orubebe, has welcomed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the PDP family into the APC, noting that the decision of the Governor to the APC is very key to the development of Delta State.
Orubebe described the defections at this time in our nation’s political history as a courageous and strategic step that reflects a commitment to the progress and unity of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.
The former Minister, who stated this in a statement, noted that in the past 20 months in office Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated capacity and shown that he is a Governor for all Deltans.
The statement reads: “I warmly welcome the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the PDP Family into the All Progressives Congress (APC). Their decision to the APC at this pivotal time in our nation’s political history is a courageous and strategic step that reflects a commitment to the progress and unity of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated uncommon leadership and commitment to the development of Delta State. I particularly commend his bold steps in infrastructure development, which have had direct and positive impacts on the lives of ordinary Deltans.
“Governor Oborevwori’s positive decisive action in the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Ohorhor-Bomadi Road is more than a Blessing to our people. That road, which generations of leaders had promised to fix but abandoned is finally receiving the attention it deserves under his watch. The Ijaw people are happy and will not forget this.
“Since assuming office, Governor Oborevwori has shown himself to be a listening leader—one who is genuinely attuned to the yearnings and aspirations of the people. This has been evident in his consultative approach to governance and his willingness to prioritize projects that directly affect the grassroots. His brand of inclusive leadership is what we in the APC welcome and embrace, as we work to build a stronger, more united Delta.
“The engagement of Julius Berger—a globally renowned construction firm—for major road infrastructure and ultra-modern flyovers is another commendable milestone. For the first time in the history of Delta State, we are seeing such a reputable company being engaged to deliver world-class projects. This bold move alone sets Governor Oborevwori apart and sends a strong message about his commitment to quality and long-term infrastructural development.
“As a chieftain of the APC in Delta State and a former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, I understand the immense challenges that come with leadership.
