Residents of Olena in Asa community, Otukpo LGA of Benue State, have fled their homes following a series of attacks by suspected herdsmen.

DAILY POST gathered that the community has been under siege for the past four days, with several people killed and many others abducted.

A resident, who spoke to our reporter, confirmed that villagers were forced to flee on Monday night when it became clear that help was not coming.

He lamented that the attackers had been terrorizing the community unchallenged for days.

“I am currently in Upu. I escaped with my family this night. At the moment, we have all vacated our community. Olena has been under attack for days now.

“They have killed and kidnapped several people. We have been crying for help, but no security agents have come to our rescue. I barely managed to escape with my life and my family tonight.

“Olena is under serious attack as we speak,” he said.

Our reporter also obtained video clips showing residents fleeing their homes on Monday night as the attacks continued.

Reading this news online doesn’t fully capture what it means to constantly flee your home in fear of being killed by these marauders. I recently watched a YouTube documentary on communities displaced by bandits and hxrdsmen,seeing their suffering firsthand was heartbreaking

You won't hear pim from both northern and southern governors, nobody will be arrested , and no compensation will be paid, no northern governor will travel to visit the victims . But once the table turns, our own southern and coward governors will travel to Kano to go beg and promise compensation to the families. They will tell you they killed innocent fulani hunters, like the ones fulanis have been killing and raping are not innocent farmers and innocent villagers.

That's the problem with Nigeria, no elite Ffk, shehu sani and the rest including Reno is saying anything about this constant attack by herdsmen on benue communities, what about the state governor and other govt officials?
If the villagers decides to retaliate now, the whole media will go agog, that benue are attacking innocent northerners and that north will not vote PO because igbos the attack on northerners,......blablabla

Federal government is really not serious in protecting lives in Benue State why not send our arm forces to help this people it is getting too much

To be very Frank with you I don't have a wicked heart but any time I heard that Benue community has been murdered by Fulani herdsmen, I don't feel any atom of pity. These are the people that voted APC government and proclaim themselves as one Nigeria. The only tribe that I am not indifferent to are Igbos when it comes to Fulani attack. Willie Obiano looted Anambra state for 8 years and yet when Ifeanyi Ubah ran under APC, Including Valentine Ozigbo of PDP, we didn't see them as alternatives. Fulani Community before this reprisal.
Where is this Fulani Community?
Do they share Boundaries with the people of Olena.
Or did the Olena people travel to a Fulani Community in Taraba, Sokoto or Adamawa to attack them?
