The Bauchi State government has ordered the closure of schools for five weeks due to the Ramadan period, SaharaReporters has learned.

The official academic calendar obtained by SaharaReporters shows that the second term of the 2024/2025 session began on January 5, 2025. However, the state government divided the term into two phases: the first from January 5 to February 28, followed by a five-week break from March 1 to April 5, and classes resuming from April 6 to April 29.

However, this directive has not been well received by private school owners, particularly those of Christian faith, who argue that due to the diverse student population, the government's order should not deny all students access to education.........

This is what they want in our SW.Those are the people that believed SW are not religious enough and want us to practice the religion their ways. When they say Sharia is for only Muslims, we know they are lying and they know they do

Wrong practice of a Religion really causing some mayhem in this country

Even the pinnacle of Islamic faith won't do such

It's well
But then have this news been verified
Because even the seat of the caliphate Sokoto has not done such neither Kano with hisbah

Then Bauchi that's more central

Well let's see how it goes

I was hoping they want 5 months and another 2 months to prepare for hajj.

Afterall, free money is coming from the south.

When a leadership is confused and lacks innovation, this is what you see.
You close schools for 5 weeks because of a particular religion, what happens to other religions?
Religion is a private matter, making it a national matter is always a pointer to tell you the kind of beings occupying the environment.

I am not sure I don't want to imagine this kind of thing happening in that region where the druggie is from.

Worse than this is already happening in your region. The evil you dirty defeated slaves wish others is always coming to you in multiple folds.
That's why you will always be servants to other people.

It's just off for a state govt to rationalise like this in the name of religious observation that should not be at variant with academic calender.

How true is this? I ed we use to go to school during Ramadan, though a private school. If this is true then this should only be for the public schools and not private.

You hastily and stupi*dly assumed that I am from a particular region.
And why did you call Sharia "evil" ? What were your coarse brains thinking when you were ing Muslim/Muslim ticket? Oh, you were thinking it was going to be owambe and maybe some skull mining here and there.

See, your leaders said it categorically that Yorubas and Hausa/Fulanis are one and inseparable. You want to be inseparable in all things apart from Sharia?
Better start getting used to it and start practicing Sharia. It has come to stay in the region of Pablo Escobar.

I doubt if this news is true? When people see these kind of things and still go ahead to vote such persons into power, such people education needs to be question.
I believe if Peter Obi and anyone who could approve such long holiday is in the ballot box, a large number of people will vote against Peter Obi.

See, the whole Islam thing doesn't actually make sense a religion. So, so many things won't make sense too.
