I wonder how Lagosians survive the multiple taxes over there. Very soon, people in Lagos go dey pay tax for air breath per hour.

Taxing people's car per hour. All those monies will still be looted by Lagos landlord and his puppet, sanwoolu. That one go use his own buy designer suits and watches.

Not just churches but all business ventures, especially bars,,hotels, clubs, motels, schools, malls and other retail outlets, cinemas, event centres, and their likes. Our streets are not your car park. Make better provision for car park while planning your business for the sake of the neighborhood.
Great idea here, LASG.
WE RISE!

YOU don't have to put yourself in position to pay such levies. Just make necessary provision for you carpark while siting your business. Parking along the street-sides are disadvantages to motorists using such roads.

If true, then that's good. The streets are public property. When you inconvenience other road s, then be ready to pay some money for alternate roads to be built.

If the church doesn't want to pay tax, then they can construct a big car park for their worshipers and .

Hopefully, it includes all religions.
untarred roads and roads filled with potholes.

Fair.
Many people have formed the habit of using the church as a place of urgent friendly meeting. Gisting and gossiping after church is over and loitering around.
naptu2: 8:55am On Jul 21, 2024
This is not just about churches

There were parking meters on some streets on Lagos Island when I was a kid (for example, there were parking meters on Broad Street). You paid (with coins) into the machine and you were allowed to park for a period of time. There were also signs that read, "No parking from Monday to Friday". In other words, you could only park on the side of those streets at the weekend and you had to pay to park.

_____________________________________________________

Last year or two years ago the Lagos State Government announced that they were going to regulate parking in Lagos. They would designate public places where people could park and you'll have to pay a fee in order to park there. Companies that have outside parking lots will also have to pay the government so that their staff and customers can park there.

I have seen a team arrive to clamp the tyres of cars that were parked in an outside parking lot of a certain hospital in Lekki.

They are going to clamp the tyres of cars that are parked in unapproved places and owners of cars that are parked in approved places will pay a fee.

NOTE: THIS DOES NOT ONLY APPLY TO CHURCHES

I have no doubt that very soon Lagos State will start taxing pregnant women too, followed by taxing destitutes just to have enough money to loot! I don't even know what people are still doing in that swimming pool republic.

Some of you will just be typing rubbish with leprosy infested fingers trying to bash Islam when matter concerning religion comes up. Its all nonsense and futile though. How long does Muslims park cars to observe salat? If lagos government decides to charge parked car per hour, does Muslim spend hours in the mosque? Most of you are brainless though.

The government is highly deceptive. They copy tax ideas from other countries but never copy the development of roads and infrastructure which will make life better for the citizens

A discouragement for people who wants to buy cars. Policy not bad but not appropriate as there could be car breakdown or some emergency could lead to roadside parking of cars. Even the islamic world don't have this level of strict policy on vehicles. But I want to believe that there's a reason why this is coming now. But there should be exceptions to cars in some situations otherwise taskforce personel would take advantage of the situation negatively.

Secondly, it will be a bad move if targeted against churches only simply because rich pastors Lagos don't pay tax and it's annoying the government. A battle against God whether Jew, Islam, Christian or traditional gods always have spiritual repercussions, one has to be very careful dealing with worshippers of unseen (spirit) beings.
.the reason is clear Lagos needs money. Income tax revenue on workers is declining because of Japa and sack as a result of downsizing and factory closures.

As far as the same is applicable to cars parked outside mosques on Fridays undecided
olayinka63: 9:25am On Jul 21, 2024
Some of you shouting mosque, what do you want from mosque? Muslims do attend mosques within their neighbourhood and they don't need to take vehicle to mosque. They don't have to go 30km like Christians do. Face your problem and pay your charges.
