President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday reassured communities in Borno and others in the North Eastern part of the country that his istration would continue to ensure that terrorism never triumphs over peace-loving Nigerians.

He condemned the terrorist attack of a mosque in the University of Maiduguri, saying attack on a place of worship and Ivory Tower showed that the perpetrators lacked true understanding of Islam.

This was in a statement made available to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.

The President said terrorism acts were punishable before God and the nation’s law.

The statement reads, “President Muhammadu Buhari strongly condemns the terrorist attack Monday morning at a mosque in the University of Maiduguri.

“The President expresses sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the university community, families of the victims and the government and people of Borno State.

“President Buhari believes that this appalling attack on a revered place of worship and Ivory Tower shows that the perpetrators have no true understanding of Islam, adding that their despicable acts of terrorism are cowardly, criminal, unjustifiable and punishable before God Almighty and the laws of the land.

“The President reassures communities in Borno and others in the North eastern part of the country that his istration will continue to ensure that terrorism never triumphs over peace-loving Nigerians.

“He reaffirms the need for Nigerians to remain more vigilant even as the security agencies continue to use all means at their disposal to combat the remnants of insurgents and their sponsors.

“President Buhari wishes those injured in the attack a speedy and full recovery, and comfort for families of the dead.”

This man just seems to have an aversion for condemning any evil perpetrated by his fellow fulani herdsmen. The same Femi Adesina that said the President must not comment on attacks in Kaduna because there is a governor and federalism is the one conveying Buhari's comments on this attack in Borno. Is there no governor in Borno or has 'federalism' suddenly taken a hike? Is it because this is labelled to be done by BH that they have used to garner international attention and sympathy and that of Kaduna was perpetrated by 'foreign' herdsmen on Nigerian soil? I wonder really..
